Billion Dollar Jerk

Speckled egg |Chapter 12|

Nicholas and I took a short walk from perticós Valsh,where I got to know him a little better.

He was born in November;on the fifth to be precise.

"Uhm....do you mind if i get your phone number to you know.... inform you on News or changes concerning work" he asks while rubbing the back of his neck clearly shy to ask for my number to contact me.

I know for a fact that he wanted my number for his personal use but I choose not to call him out on it.

"Uhm...sure why not"I say grabbing my phone from my pocket.

After we exchanged numbers we begin to walk back to work in a silence that wasn't awkward.

He kept stealing a few glances at me that made me a little self conscious.

"What? Is there something wrong with my face"I halt before using my hands to touch my face.

"No!..No! your face is fine I was just admiring your freckles"

"Oh!"I said blushing in embarrassment while covering my nose with my hand.

I always had a few from my nose region leading to my cheeks

"There's nothing wrong them. They are beautiful...I mean your beautiful so don't hide them" he said taking my hand away.

"What is wrong with having freckles?" He asks

"Well,firstly,there's school. I used to get teased and called a speckled egg alot" I say avoiding eye contact with him.

He grabs my chin before laughing which caused me to smile in embarrassment.

The fact he just laughed in my face was embarrassing

" Then claim it,  because you are the cutest speckled egg I've ever seen" he says before letting go of my chin and gently begins to caress my cheek.

I blush before pulling him into an embrace that catches him off guard before he recollects himself and huggs me back.

"Where have you been Ria? I've looking for you everywhere our shift is over" Marcia says to me as Nicholas and I walk into the kitchen.

"She was with me I took her for a walk to show her around a bit" Nicholas answers for me.

"Nick, can I have a word with you?"Marcia asks pulling him away from earshot.

"She's way too innocent for guys like you Nick....I've seen how you look at her. But if you are going in the direction I think you are with her,you better not break her heart or else.

"I have no bad intentions Cia i feel so drawn to her and I really can't explain it.

"Cia, Elena says we should get her a takeout of goût poulet a L'oignon soup and the prawn supreme. I actually don't have a clue on what that might be" I tell her interrupting her discussion with Nicholas.

"That is the onion chicken flavoured soup with the prawn supreme" Nicholas translates.

"Yeah,I should probably get that. Ria you should come along too so you could get some experience with the food with fancy names".

"Ok...sure why not. Later Nick" I say walking towards Marcia by the brown flappy doors.

We get back to Elena's. I drop the food in the kitchen before going upstairs to look for Elena.

I knock on her door and seconds later it opens and I'm greeted  with a hug

"Hey! So! How was the day?" She asks detaching herself from the hug before pulling me into her room and closing the door behind me.

"It was pretty great. The interview went extremely well my new boss Mr. Davies is a really nice person and so was everyone I met today.

"So what about Cia? didn't she stop by or something?"

"Yeah, she did she wanted to say hi but she was in quite a rush".

"That's ok. So did you bring my food" Elena says with a savage glint in her eyes.

Getting ready for my first official day at perticós Valsh.

I would say I'm excited and looking forward to the day seeing as everyone  i met yesterday  was so nice including Mr. Davies.

That man is so kind compared to that hot headed Mr. Morganstein but i  honestly can't help but occasionally imagine  how things would have been if i did work at Stein.co Enterprises.

The question is how much do i really want to work for him ? I mean  i  wanted to work for him because i  hear he pays great and I do need money but I'm  not that desperate.

Would  he have intentionally overworked me and mistreated me seeing as he personally doesn't like me for reasons unknown. I guess these are things i would never know.

I put on my  fitted high waist burgundy skirt that is about mid thigh and just as i'm about to put on my cropped black off shoulder top i recieve a message from Marcia  saying she's  five minutes  away.

I don't  bother  putting on make up, i  just  slip on sandals that  go with my outfit and head  to the kitchen.

I write a little sticky note and paste  it on the fridge  for Elena,letting her know i left  for work before grabbing two  plums from the fruit bowl and leaving.

"Hey... DAMNN! OH!....Wow!" "Gosh Ria you look great this  morning" Nicholas says with his eyes bulging out of their sockets.

"Hi, Goodmorning , I think you need glasses Nick because  i  don't know what you see,I'm not even wearing makeup I'm  just plain Jane  but thank though"

"You don't need makeup  Maria i  think you look great with or without it" he says smiling.

"Thanks Nick that's  too sweet I say hugging him and he stiffened to my sudden display of affection before reciprocating it.

"Ok later Nico I need to go get dressed for work"

"Wai- what did you just call me" a shocked and frozen Nicholas asks

"Oh, I called you Nico. why? Is there a problem?

"No...no not at all" he says with an expression I can't decipher.

"In that case see you later?"

"Yeah" with that i leave him standing there and even as I'm walking away I still feel his eyes on me.
