"I'm so glad I'm finally able to get a hold of you! How have you been? You hoe, you haven't even texted me in ages!"
Kat couldn't process anything right now as the caller on the other side greeted her with a cheery bright voice. Her palms started to get clammy as her throat felt constrained.
"Kat?"
After taking a gulp of air, Kat managed to smile wearily and reply,"H-Hey, Nev. It's really been a long time huh? Sorry, I was busy with a lot of upcoming stuff and I didn't have enough time to text people."
A bead of sweat dropped down the side of her temple as she leaned on the bathroom door. As she waited for Nevena's response, Kat began creating an excuse to get her out of this mess.
"Oh, it's fine I just seriously missed you. We haven't talked ever since that incident with you-know-who. But I actually have great news, want to hear?"
Kat swallowed her sailva as she tried to respond without her voice being shaky,"Yeah?"
"I'm in a relationship with Park Jimin."
Kat muffled her gasp as the sentence Nevena just told her kept repeating in her head.
It's actually all my fault.
"Hello? You still with me, Kat?"
Shaking that thought, Kat answered back with a small chuckle and stayed there, silent, waiting for Nevena to talk more.
"Oh well, I just wanted to say that remember back at those times? The drama and all? With.. Jeon Jungkook? I really wanted to say that if you can get ahold of him-"
As Kat was about to lick her chapped lips and respond with the most plausible answer, the door she was leaning on swept open and made her balance wobbly enough for her to fall to the floor. The phone she held hurtled out of her hands and landed on the marble floor a few feet away away from her. But before she could grasp the mobile, a hand had already gotten there first and Kat shook with fear.
Her eyes traced to the owner of the hand and just as she had thought, the worst had appeared.
In Jeon Jungkook's hands, the connection to Nevena he desperately desired ever since then finally was restored.
His whole body trembled as he held the phone to his ear.
After a long pause from both ends, his lips parted.
"H-Hello."
