"So.. If you're Park Jimin, aren't you in a relationship with Nevena?"
Jimin pursued his lips and nodded stiffly. The atmosphere between the two teens that were sitting on a nearby park bench, grew thick with awkwardness and it even made Kat fiddle with her thumbs.
"A-And aren't you in a relationship with Jungkook?" Jimin asked carefully, turning his head slightly towards her.
Immediately he could see that he asked the wrong question because her body tensed up.
"I-It's kind of a long story. How did you know anyway, did he tell you we were dating?"
Jimin started to loosen up and shook his head while he responded, "I figure you know what happened between me, Jungkook, and Nev."
Kat gulped and nodded without a word. In her head, she thought that if the person she was talking to was really, Park Jimin, then it would be better if she didn't tell him what was going on right now back at the movie theatre. Or should she? She messed up once by not telling the truth, should she just confess and inform him? As Kat was about to open her mouth and explain the current situation, Jimin had already started to speak.
"I feel like Nevena still has feelings for Jungkook. And.. You know that Jungkook does too right?"
Kat's mouth had gone dry and she was desperate for some water. How did he know so well?
The question that was directed towards her made her freeze and stop whatever actions she was doing. Jimin looked at her and waited for at least a face expression when he saw no evidence and sighed.
"Why were you crying earlier then?"
"That's none of your business."
"Did Jungkook hurt you?"
"I told you, you don't need to know-"
"You don't need to be so defensive, it's okay to let your guard down sometimes."
Kat's mouth snapped shut and she fell silent once again at Park Jimin's words. Since when did he become so wise?
To be honest, Kat really did just want to give up everything and forget about what happened between her, Jungkook, Nevena, and even Park Jimin. Actually, she regrets on how she asked Jungkook to buy her fried chicken that time because that's what started the whole relationship with her and the members. She couldn't even return back to the original fan she was, not after all this drama.
And that's when she made her decision. Kat slammed her palms down on her thighs and took a deep breath in. She whipped her whole body towards Jimin and stared at his eyes boldly.
"I messed up and I didn't deliver the favour Jungkook asked me because of my selfish reasons and I ended up breaking the remaining contact that Nevena and Jungkook had. I started dating him because who wouldn't want to date their bias, right? But the guilt kept chewing me and then today when Jungkook and I were about to watch a movie, Nevena called me out of nowhere which now I realize, she was probably calling you earlier. Anyway, she called and I answered but then Jungkook overheard and took the phone and they began talking. I don't know what happened after that but that's why I was crying and why I had an attitude towards you. I'm deeply sorry and I feel like I can't do anything useful now so I beg you." she paused as she took another long breath.
"Help them?"
Jimin had to take more than just seconds to soak that burst of energy and the information in. But before he could answer back and ask more questions to Kat, she had already stood up, dusted herself off from the dirt on the bench, and smiled down at him.
"I think I'm just going to move on. There's no more place for me here in this messed up love triangle. I was just one too selfish fan that had too many desires because I met the person of my dreams. So, I'm letting my guard down by walking away. Starting by walking away from you."
Jimin scrambled up to his feet and grabbed ahold of Kat's wrist.
"Oh, you're right. I didn't tell you which way to go, oops. Just head down that way and then to the right, you'll probably see a medium sized movie theatre there-"
"A-Are you actually going to leave? Like that?" Jimin retorted, his eyes widened with surprise.
Kat let out a small giggle and smiled, "Yeah, I'm leaving. I might seem like a coward and a bitch at this point but, I'm going to do what's best for me. No, what's best for all of us. I'm kind of like a contagious virus right now. Or maybe if you want to relate to the weather currently, the grey skies. Damn, it looks like it's about to rain so I'm going to go that way while you go that way, okay?"
Jimin was stunned at this girl who was only crying a couple of minutes ago and now was smiling like nothing was wrong. Did she really intend on moving on and forgetting everything?
"Bye, Park Jimin-"
And a pair of warm lips had interrupted her farewell.
