Once in California

CHAPTER 18

“Where are you taking me?” Emilia asked without leaving Kit’s hand

“Some place where we can actually be alone…” he smiled at her and she grinned

“Wouldn’t be easy to just go back to the house” she said

Kit raised his eyebrows in a very funny way and a huge smirk appeared across his face

“What’s the fun on that?” he said and she laughed.

They reached the quiet place but someone was already there.

“Who the hell…? Kit whispered and both of them froze when they got close enough to listen.

“Not all good guys are the same you know…”

They heard Stiles said to Lydia. And then he was kissing her.

“That’s my boy…” Kit whispered between giggles.

Emilia looked at him and then at the two who were still kissing and she felt that something boild inside her stomach, this was not ok. She frowned

“Lydia is with Freddie, that’s not right…”  she said to Kit and he rolled his eyes.

“Milly they are not getting married” she was amazing and inteligent but sometimes she just couldn't trust people.

“So that gives them the right to cheat?” she crossed her arms and turned around “Let’s get out of here”  she said why was Kit supporting that?

She didn’t know why she was so angry. She knew that they liked each other, but this was awful, Freddie has only be nice to Lydia and she clearly couldn’t see that.

And what the hell was Stiles doing, he was better than that. He was so nice and tender and he was not a liar, he was going to get hurt again and she couldn’t stand that.  He was so sweet with everyone and she hated to seeing him hurt.

“Emilia please slow down” she heard Kit behind her, so she stopped abruptly and he almost crush with her “Geez you walk fast” he whispered

Emilia smiled to herself remembering that she said the exact thing to Stiles.

“Can you please tell me why you got so angry? Let them have fun” Kit said

“You call cheating having fun?” she asked and she felt anger growing inside her

“No…” Kit scratched the back of his head “I’m just saying that they are not hurting anyone right now”

‘Me! They are hurting ME’ she thought but she shook the idea off her head in seconds, why on earth would she be hurt?

“And what about Freddie?” she said and Kit rolled his eyes.

“I think he will be fine… he is not the kind of guy who worries about this stuff, besides no one would tell him, I won’t, they won’t… I’m pretty sure you won’t tell him either” Kit crossed his arms and stare at her.

Her eyes went wide in surprise

“I can’t believe you would lie like that! I hate lying and cheating it makes the world a darker place” she was so angry and she still didn’t know why.

“It’s not lying is keeping a secret, there is a difference”  he said and shrugged, what was wrong with her why was she so angry “Why are you so mad about this? Weren’t you the one who wanted them to be together?”

Kit raised his eyebrows and was waiting for her answer. Emilia stood still, she didn’t have an answer for that, because he was right. Ever since the moment she started developing feelings for Kit she had wanted Lydia to be with Stiles, maybe because she thought they fit together. But now she didn’t believe that anymore and it was hard for her to realise why. What had changed that it made her want to punch someone?.
