Opposites Attract - Mike Fuentes

"Look, all I'm saying is that I didn't like how he looked at you." Mike mumbled, glaring at the floor. I sputtered on my words and I crossed my arms over my chest narrowing my eyes at the thin man.

"You don't like the way anyone looks at me." I growled, giving him an angry look. Mike looked pissed off as he scowled angrily at my feet.

"Well, yeah. You're my girlfriend and that guy was looking at you like you were a piece of meat-"

"Stop it, Mike. He wasn't." I scoffed. "Just because we dated in high school-"

"You dated in high school?" Mike shouted, dropping his arms. "Are you serious?!"

"What?" I laughed. "I've dated many guys in high school."

Mike wrinkled his nose and grabbed his coat. "You might've been a whore back then, but you sure as hell can't act like one now!"

"Don't call me a whore!" I shouted at him, my smirk disappearing. Mike rolled his eyes and pulled on his shoes, tying them quickly and neatly.

"Where're you going?" I asked, dropping my arms as well and following him to the door.

"Out."

"You better not be drinking again." I warned, feeling the tears in my eyes. Mike glowered at me.

"So what if I am?" He snapped. "I'm an adult. I can do whatever the fuck I want to do." And with that, he proved it by storming off into the winter night.

I hugged myself feeling tears springing to my eyes. Shit.

I plucked up my phone and dialed Mike's brother's number, Vic. He picked up, sighing slightly.

"It's Mike, isn't it?" He asked before I could say anything. My silence confirmed his accusation and he coughed. "I'll be right there."

I just kept the phone on as I knew Vic hung up. I didn't care when the dial tone rang in my ear. I just blankly stared at the walls, admiring the hole in it from when Mike punched it from out last argument two weeks ago.

Mike had gotten so tense since I announced my pregnancy. I can understand why he's so worried about this because at the beginning of our relationship when we met each other, I was already told by my doctor that I couldn't have children. But now that the six raging plus signs said differently, the doctor said not to get too excited because the fetus was probably weak and it's chances of survival was very small. For eight months, my way of dealing with this was relaxing days of lying around and cleaning some places in the apartment that Mike and I shared. His way of dealing with this stress was to get blackout drunk.

The door opened and I didn't worry about it, knowing it was probably Vic. He knew where Mike hid the extra key so he could always get in when he wanted to.

"…Hey." he said softly. I looked up from him, wiping my eyes. Vic frowned sadly at me and sat next to me, hugging me tightly. "How are you?"

"I'm not good." I sobbed, leaning into him and clutching onto him. "Why does he do this?"

"I don't know." Vic murmured, rubbing my back carefully. "But I'm here for you."

"I know-I just-I want-" I closed my eyes and kept crying on his shoulder. Vic sighed carefully and was about to say something when the door opened loudly.

I jerked my head up and stared as Mike walked into the house, his eyes falling on me.

"Vic! What the fuck! Get off my girlfriend!"
