Dreamless In Early Graves - CC
While writing this, it brought tears to mah eyes...ugh...crying---
Christian and I stood in the bathroom, staring at the counter in shock. It wasn't the black and spattered white marble that held our attention so well; it was the thin plastic stick that caught my attention and captured CC's.
"Oh my." Christian mumbled. I blinked rapidly, wanting to cry. I didn't know what to think. I thought that birth control worked, but when I received a twitter notifications from that stupid fact thing that birth control didn't work if you were over 130 pounds, then I had to check. "Oh, my, my, my."
"Is that all you're gonna say?" I breathed, tears skimming down my cheeks. I wiped them away ferociously, and Christian eyed me, his sharp jawline clenched visibly through his thin cheeks. "I mean, there has to be more than just 'oh' and 'my'." The tears refused to stop. "I mean, seriously, if you want to say something, then say it, because I don't know what to say, and you always know what to say, don't you? But now you're not talking, but I'm talking a lot, and you're not, and that's unusual, because normally you're the talker, and I just sit there, but I don't know if I can stop talking, Christian, fucking say something!"
CC blinked stupidly at me, his brown eyes flashing dangerously. So he knew not to say something dumb. Good for him.
"Taylor," he muttered cautiously, "what is there for me to say? I'm happy-"
"You are?" I gasped, my mouth quivering. CC nodded. "Oh thank god."
CC laughed and I finally felt my features turn into a grin. "We're having a baby!" CC cheered, kissing my hand, kissing the two rings hugging my ring finger and his teeth nibbling slightly on my knuckle. "We're having a beautiful baby!"
The memories flooded to me while CC held my hand, another contraction ripping through my lower abdomen. "Shi-fu-CC!" I snapped, my nails digging into his skin. "I th-th-think we should go t-to the ho-hospital!"
CC looked at me sadly, his mouth twisted slightly, ignoring the painful scratches I was leaving on his lower arm and palm. "Well, the doctor said they were false contractions, just your body stretching out for the baby to come-"
"But the baby is coming in a week! I could be going into labor early!" I wailed as the contraction's intensity dampened. "CC, please-"
"Look, babe, when your water breaks, that when we'll know you're going through labor for real." CC gave me a small smile. "Okay?"
"Mmmhm." I sighed, suddenly exhausted from the pain and I let go of CC's hand.
"That's a good girl! There's the woman I married." CC grinned toothily and kissed my sweaty forehead. "I'm gonna go grab your Ginger Ale, okay, Tay?"
"Haha." I said scratchily, opening one eye. "That rhymed."
"Ah! So it did!" CC laughed cheerfully. "I should write more songs than Andy, yeah?"
"Sure." I sighed sarcastically as CC flounced from the room, rubbing his abused hand. I looked down at my stomach and scowled at it in bitter disappointment. "Look, Aurelia Rose Mora-Coma, you're a beautiful baby, and I can't wait to hold you in my arms and cuddle you every night, but seriously, dude? Enough with the pain." I felt exhausted. If false contractions left me like this, I was really dreading giving birth for real.
As if these thoughts made my body react, my stomach felt like it dropped and I felt like I peed myself, my bed becoming soaked and my body feeling light and confused. Looking down at myself my eyes widened.
