POV from Austin

After asking Phil what calmed Alan down, I decided to bring Killer in to work today. Phil was saying how much Alan missed his Labrodoodle, so I decided to cheer Alan up. Although Killer was a Pitbull, he was everything but aggressive. It's a vicious stereotype that all Pitbulls are aggressive and ferocious. Killer is the biggest pansy I have ever met, which is why Tino and I thought it would be hilarious to call him 'Killer'.

I still had another day off, so I dressed in casual wear which was a Pink Floyd 'Wife-Beater' and black skinny jeans. I wrapped my feet in comfortable Toms and wore my knee brace because it was killing me for some reason today.

I sighed and pulled into the hospital. Pulling out the leash for Killer, I hopped out of the car and whistled to chain him up and walk him into the hospital.

I walked through the automatic doors and was greeted with air conditioning.

"AUSTIN!" laughed a voice, barreling towards me. I glanced up and saw Josh running at me with Chris trailing behind. "Oh, gosh! I've missed you! Ah!" Josh squealed as he skidded to a stop in front of Killer, his eyes widening. Killer started whining and wagging his tail, but Josh looked terrified. "Oh, oh my. D-d-dog-" He mumbled, stepping back. I laughed.

"Josh, this is Kil-Daisy." I quickly changed Killer's name to not put Josh on edge. "Daisy, this is Josh-"

Josh grinned at the name and stooped down, rubbing Killer behind the ears.

"Daisy! What a pretty name! Daisy!"

Killer looked up at me with confused eyes and I smirked tugging at his leash. "Let's go, Daisy!"

Killer, almost out of shame, waddled to me, leaving a pouting Josh. "It's okay. He'll be back."

Josh giggled at the fact that Daisy was a boy and flounced off with Chris, skipping while leaning his head from side to side. Killer whined and I rolled my eyes tugging him along the halls.

I hoped Tino didn't see me because he would scold me for bringing an animal into the hospital without permission.

Finding Alan's room, I opened the door and led Killer in.

Alan was lying on his bed, a pillow over his face. "I don't want to talk, Garland, and I'm not going to apologize, so don't think that I'll give in that easily."

I chuckled. "Hey, Alan."

The pillow flew from Alan's face and he sat up quickly, dropping the blankets. "Austin! They said you weren't gonna be here 'til tomorrow-"

"Yeah, well, I'm here by choice. Brought my dog for you." I smiled and walked Killer over to Alan's bed, unhooking him and letting him leap to Alan, whining and yipping.

Alan chuckled and allowed Killer to jump on his bed, instantly cuddling the large dog. "Awe! What's his name?" Alan asked, rubbing Killer's ears and nose.

"His name is Killer." I answered. Alan chuckled.

"That's cute." he nodded. His smiled turned into a quick frown and his hand stopped on Killer's head. "No. I'm still mad at you."

"Why?" I asked, sitting on Oli's bed knowing that if he was here, he would be having a fit about me even touching his bedsheets.

Alan scoffed. "Oh, you don't know?"

I gave Alan a strange look and he sent me a sad look. He moved his face to the side a bit and a bruise shined on his face.

"What happened?" I asked softly as Killer slumped on Alan's lap.
