Chapter 24
" Rise and shine maggots!" I yell. Jay and Chase wake up in a jolt.
" Why?" Chase whines.
" We have the challenge in two hours. Come on. Get ready," I say nudging him with my foot.
" No," he says. I roll my eyes.
" Get up child," I say pulling him up.
" But how come Jay doesn't have to get up?" Chase complains. I look over at Jay who fell back asleep.
" Oh he'll get up," I assure him. I push him into the bathroom. Yes the treehouse has a bathroom.
" Jay, get up babe!"
" Leave me alone," Jay mumbles.
" Ah nah bro. Get up!" I said kicking him.
" Stop hurting me Kenz!"
" Only if you get up!"
" Fine! I'm up!" He says getting up. I smile at him.
" Thank you," I say kissing his cheek before going to change. I change out of my sweats and t-shirt and change into a pair of shorts and a athletic tank top. I tie my hair up in a pony and step out. Jay smiles at me then goes back to pestering my twin brother.
" There you are Lex!" Chase says once he sees me.
" Yup,"
" Ready?"
" Let's go!" I climb down and run to the car.
" Good luck sweetie!" Dad calls from the door.
" Thanks dad! See you later!" I say and open my door. I get in and Chase and Jay get in right after.
*************
" Rules are simple. You fail to make it through the whole scrimmage. You lose. If I fail to make it through a half an hour of cheer, I lose. Got it?" I state as we stretch. Amy nods. The soccer team and the cheerleading are at the school right now. Jay stretches next to me.
" Great we'll start with me first and get it over with," I say as the cheerleaders get up.
" Okay we are doing a cheer. Do you know the one we do at your soccer games?" Amy asks me. I then remember practicing it with Maddie after soccer once.
" Yeah I know it. Can't say I like it," I say. Maddie grins knowing exactly why.
" Why?" Chase asks.
" You'll see," I say.
" Remember you have to do this in front of your team," Amy says smirking.
" Oh I know," I say. We stand in position. Maddie being captain stands in dead center I take a spot next to her and wait until someone counts off.
" Ready? Go!" Maddie says. I start the cheer along with everyone else and if I'm being honest, it's sucks.
" Okay ready?" Maddie whispers.
" When aren't I?" I whisper back.
" Atta girl," Maddie says before launching into the next line.
Stupid flips and twirls and everything.
" Alright you know what to do," Maddie chants. We all turn and kick up our feet and then we have to shake our rear ends a bit before flipping.
" I hate this," I mumble.
" You agreed to it," Maddie says.
We all do our final flips and stand in the ending position.
