"Hi my name is Beyoncé Knowles and I have an appointment for 12:30" I tell the assistant at the desk.
"Alright, the doctor should be with you in a few"
I walk over to where my mom and Araya are and sit down.
"So you girls know that your father's 60th birthday is coming up soon?" We nod our heads. "Well I was thinking about throwing him a big surprise party" my mom informs us.
"Ohh that would be so awesome, dad would love that" Araya gushes.
"He would. Have you thought about a theme?" I ask.
"No, I haven't got that far so that's why I'm going to need y'all help"
"Sure" me and Araya both agree.
"And remember it is a secret" she says while looking at Araya.
"Why you looking at me?"
"Because you know you can't hold water"
"I promise I won't say anything"
"Mhmm" I laugh at them.
Before we can continue with the conversation my name is called.
"Beyoncé Knowles?" The nurse calls out.
"Yes right here" I state while grabbing my things and walking over to her.
"Okay right this way." Me, my mom, and sister follow behind the nurse. "If you could take your shoes off so I can weigh you"
I take off my shoes and step on the scale.
"You are weighing in at 145, you've gained about 10 pounds since we last saw you"
Once I put my shoes back on we headed to the examination room where the nurse took my blood pressure, temperature, and also a sample of my urine to make sure that I was 100% pregnant.
"Change into this gown for me and Dr. Livingston will be right with you"
I change into the gown and lay back on the table while I waited for the doctor. A few moments later I hear a knock on the door.
"Hello everybody"
"Hi" we all say in unison.
"How have you been doing Bey?" Dr. Livingston questioned.
She has been my doctor since I was 18 and we have formed a great relationship over the past years.
"I've been doing good"
"I have to say I was shocked and excited to see your name down for a pregnancy check up" she says with a chuckle.
"You and me both" I laugh.
"Alright well your urine sample confirms that you are indeed pregnant. You are about 20 weeks which is five months"
For some reason tears fill my eyes hearing that I am definitely pregnant. It just made it is seem so surreal.
"Now if you could lay back for me so we can see that beautiful baby growing inside of you." I lay back and Dr. Livingston lifts up my gown. "This gel is going to be a little cold" she says while rubbing it on my belly.
