"What song should we start with fellas?" Chris asked as he plugged a mahogany Martin guitar into it's amp. The others were too busy fiddling with their equipment to notice him. He sighed, and shook his head- biting back a smile and went back to tuning his instrument. I smiled at how passionate he was about music. Everything about him showed it.

Sensing my gaze on him, Chris lifted his head and caught me staring and he smiled, showing those slightly crooked teeth.

"What song do you want us to play Lucy?" He asked. My hear started pounding rapidly. Oh God, was he really asking?! I mentally ran through their song names before coming to a decision.

"How about Violet Hill ?" I asked hopefully, relieved when I saw his face lift up.

"Sure!  Great choice Lucy! Guys we're playing Violet Hill first ok?" All guys glance up and nod in acknowledgement, already tuning their instruments. A few moments later, Chris was strumming the opening chords to the song and winked at me- causing me to blush and everyone else to laugh. Finally he began to sing.

It was a long and dark December
From the rooftops I remember
There was snow, white snow

Clearly I remember
From the windows they were watching
While we froze down below

When the future's architectured
By a carnival of idiots on show
You'd better lie low

If you love me, won't you let me know?

He sung beautifully, his voice floating above the instruments' melodies, all mixing together in harmony. They then went on to rehearse old classics, such as Yellow, Clocks and Viva La Vida. Then they focused on songs from the new album, Ghost Stories.

They played a song called Always In My Head, which lyrically caught my attention ...

I think of you, I haven't slept...
I think I do but I don't forget

My body moves, goes where I will....
But though I try my heart stays still

It never moves, just won't be led
And so my mouth waters to be fed...

And you're always in my head
You're always in my head.....

This is guess is to tell you
You're chosen out from the rest....

I can feel my heart breaking... the pure rawness of his powerful, yet vulnerable voice showed his passion towards the song, but also his emotions. He looked absolutely devastated, his voice cracking on "guess" and he was blinking rapidly, fighting the tears in his eyes. That song was written for someone that he had lost- and he was truly heartbroken. He knew what it felt like to feel lost... like me...

Without thinking, I stood up and walked towards him with my arms held open, inviting him in for a hug. He looked surprised and smiled weakly before stepping into my embrace, wrapping his long arms around me securely.

"That song is so beautiful" I told him, tightening my grip around him reassuringly .

"Thank you" he whispered into my ear, copying my actions before pulling away with a soft smile. "I'm glad you like it" he added, causing me to blush slightly. "Right, so what's the next song guys?"
