The picture above was taken during the Ghost Stories era and I hate seeing him so sad/upset. But I thought it suited the mood in this chapter. This chapter does include upsetting scenes (CPR etc) but it's not too gruesome 😂Hope you guys enjoy and please let me know what you think! 😊

Chris' POV:

"C-Chris.... I-I..... L-Love....You" I heard her force out, her breathing ragged as she gasped for air. No, no , no this isn't happening....Suddenly Her eyes rolled back and she fell limp in my arms. Then I realised that she's stopped breathing. SHIT...

"LUCY?!? LUCE!! .... HELP!!!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP" I scream, panic and fear washing over me. My vision blurred with tears as I made out people rushing over to us as I layed the lifeless woman down on the cold pavement, pressing my fingers to her neck to find no pulse either. I immediately kneel down next to her and began CPR , locking my hands together and pushing down on her sternum, mentally reminding myself to do 30 compressions to 2 breathes.

People have started to crowd around us now and I felt someone drop down next to me. I momentarily look up to see a fit looking young man with a mop of dark hair knelt on the other side of Lucy, his piercing blue eyes intensely gazing at me. He couldn't have been more than 20 years old.

"It's okay, I'm a lifeguard ... I'll do the compressions if you do the breathes!" He ordered, moving closer to Lucy's lifeless body and waited until I got to 30 before he took over. "Somebody call an ambulance! We need help!" He said to the onlookers stood nearby and they immediately obeyed. I could hear someone give out information.

"She's a young woman, early 30's ... we think she's been shot/stabbed or something... shes not breathing and she has no pulse... she's losing a lot of blood and two men are performing CPR on her right this minute...."

"TWO BREATHES!!! TWO BREATHES!!!"the man screamed and I'm immediately brought back to my task, sealing my lips around Lucy's and tilted her head back, blowing 2 breathes into her lungs. We kept working for on her for a while until I heard a siren and saw flashing blue lights approach us. 2 paramedics ran over carrying their kit with them and they took over from us. They keep working on her while a 3rd one walked over to me calmly.

"Are you with her?" She asked- focusing her eyes on me. I nodded, looking down at myself and realised that I'm covered in her blood, my hands are stained with it and the front of my sweatshirt's soaked.

"Yeah, I'm her boyfriend" I said watching as they attached a defibrillator to her and turned it on... they've fitted a pocket mask to her face and they're still doing compressions while waiting for it to charge up....

"Can you tell me what happened?" She asked softly. I lifted my gaze for a second to see her concerned gaze and tears continued to make their way down my cheeks.

"She was w-walking home from work and her  ex s-shot her.... I went out looking for her and I just found her lying on the floor." I broke off, a lump forming in my throat as I saw that the first shock hadn't worked. They're wiring her up again, getting ready for the second one.

"Okay, I'm going to phone the police to notify them about what's hap-"

"The police know about her ex! They have done for months and they still let him out on bail with a ankle tracker, knowing perfectly well of what he's capable of! It's their fault that this happened in the first place!!" I exclaimed, cutting her off; anger and frustration overwhelming me. I went to run a hand through my hair but then remembered about the blood on them and thought otherwise. I heard the defib count down before it shocked her body yet again, jolting it slightly.... and then silence.... c'mon Lucy... please....
