December 22, 11:00 PM

"Ma'am, nakauwi na po yung mga bisita po natin. Nagliligpit na rin po sila sa baba," Philip informed her as she is busy uploading some photos from her office's Christmas Party earlier on her Facebook account.

"Okay, thank you, Philip. Pakisabi rin sa driver na i-ready na yung sasakyan," Leni smiled at her Chief of Staff. She placed her phone on top of the table to fix her stuff as she was getting ready to go home.

"Copy, VP! Merry Christmas po!"

Leni nodded and smiled to her staff. "Merry Christmas!"

11:30 PM

Leni's liking some comments on her Facebook when a text message popped out.

"Merry Christmas!"

She was shocked. She didn't expect that text. She looked out the window as the car stopped at the red light. She watched some cars from the opposite lane pass by before she unlocked her phone to read the SMS again.

"Merry Christmas!"

She started typing a message, but it was quite long, so she decided to erase it. She composed a new one and the message seems to be okay, but she still cannot send it because she chickened out.

"Oh my God! This is so awkward."

She deleted the message she typed earlier and started over again - this time, making it brief.

"Thank you! Merry Christmas din po, Sir!"

She inhaled deeply first before hitting the send button.

She closed her eyes for a few seconds. She would be a hypocrite if she would deny the fact that she's waiting for another text from him. She keeps on looking at her phone - checking if there's a reply - even though her phone's not in silent mode. Few more minutes have passed and her phone beeped. She quickly unlocked it, but immediately became disappointed as the text message she received was from Georgina, wishing her a safe trip for her flight tomorrow afternoon. She replied a thank you message to her spokesperson and locked her phone again. This time, she does not bother to wait for a reply from him.

"Baka naka-send to many yung message niya."

She was dismayed that ten minutes have already passed and she still hasn't gotten any response from him.

"Rick, daan muna tayo sa 7-11. May bibilhin lang ako," she instructed her driver. She saw the hesitation in his eyes as he looked at the rear view mirror, but she insisted that they drop by the convenience store. Her PSGs are opposing to the idea of her going in a convenience store at that time of the night, but she was able to pursue them. Her PSG Chief quickly radioed their convoy for some security measures. When everything's fixed, she smiled at them, "thank you."
