II. I Just Fall in Love Again (Part I)

Summary: Leni and Digong's relationship is on the rocks because of some misunderstandings caused by the people around them. As much as they try to avoid each other, destiny interfered and made them fall for each other again.

Digong's POV

January 4, 2017

"Iyong sa akin makikipagtulungan pa rin ako sa abot ng aking makakaya. Hindi ko na rin ipagsisiksikan ang sarili ko, ako naman ang desire na tumulong ay parating nariyan pero mahirap naman na hindi ka pinagkakatiwalaan."

Digong breathed heavily as he put down his smartphone after reading the news and lightly massaged his temple after. He was in his private villa in Davao to rest after working non-stop even in the midst of holiday season. He grabbed the pen on the table and played with it before he finally decided to pick up the intercom to call Bong Go.

"Bong, pasok ka man sandali dito sa office."

It didn't take long for Bong to enter Digong's office.

"Bakit po, Mayor?"

Digong looked at his phone again, then at his assistant.

"Nagsagot na ba si Leni sa mga tawag at text mo," his mind doesn't want to keep his hopes up, but his heart does. Even though he knew the answer, he still chose to hope that Leni would at least answer either Bong's calls or texts.

Bong unlocked his phone before answering. "Opo, Mayor."

He was actually shocked because he didn't expect her to reply now after attempting to contact her several times since she arrived from the States and getting no response from her at all.

"Ano man sabi?" Digong looked at his watch to check the time. It was 8:00 in the morning.

Bong scrolled the screen of his phone, "I-schedule na lang daw po tayo, Mayor. Busy raw ho siya sa pagbawi sa mga kababayan niya."

Digong forcefully dropped the pen he's playing with on the table which startled Bong.

"Put- anong i-schedule? I am the President at ako pa ang isisingit niya sa schedule niya?"

Bong didn't utter a single word. He feared that what he will say could possibly trigger his boss more.

"Sino man siya sa akala niya? Bawi-bawi... Eh siya man tong nag-enjoy sa bakasyon. Put#%$*&!"

Bong locked his phone again and prepared to leave Digong's office.

"Mayor, labas na po muna ako. Kung may-," he was cut off when Digong spoke again.

"Masyado man paimportante 'yang si Robredo... Akala ba niya habulin natin siya? Akala niya habulin ko siya..."

Bong remained silent and decided to leave the office at the moment.

"Mauna na po ako, Mayor."

He already opened the door when Digong called him again.

"Bong, itawag mo man sa military ngayon magpahanda ng chopper..."

It was Bong's turn to be shocked. "Bakit ho, Mayor? Saan ho kayo pupunta?"

Digong stood up from his seat and walked towards Bong.
