"Sakura, kill Naruto now or Sasuke dies!"

Sakura and Naruto panicked, and I groaned again, sitting up slowly and staring at Kakashi unimpressed. "So I'm not even in the example? Guess that means I was already killed." I shrugged at the looks the others gave me, smiling at them.

"That's what can happen on a mission." Kakashi removed the kunai from Sasuke's neck, and he sighed in relief along with Naruto and Sakura. "The enemy takes a hostage and you've got an impossible choice, and someone ends up dead. On every mission, your life is on the line." Kakashi got off of Sasuke, standing up and going to the monument for those killed in action.

I stood up, walking over to Sasuke and helping him up. I gave him a sympathetic smile, but he refused to meet my eyes. I sighed, looking over to Kakashi as he continued speaking. "Have you ever looked at this stone before? The names engraved on it? They are all ninja, who are honored as heroes in our village."

"That's it, that's it, that's it! Now I know! I've decided I'm going to have my name carved into that stone! I'm not going to live and die like some kind of dog! I'm gonna be a hero, a hero!" Naruto shouted, and I glared at him for a moment, wrapping my arms around myself.

"You... Don't want to be on that one, Naruto." I said softly, as Kakashi explained what kind of hero those on the stone were.

"They're all.... KIA."

"Ooo! That sounds cool!"

"It's not, Naruto!" I snapped, exasperated by the level of knowledge Naruto seemed to possess.

"It means killed in action. They all died." Sakura explained much more calmly. At that, Naruto's excited expression fell, replaced by a guilty and unsure look.

"This is a memorial stone. The names of my closest friends are on there." Kakashi said softly, and I looked away.

"My grandpa's on there..." I said quietly, and Sasuke's eyes widened.

"Alright. I'm going to give you one more chance, but I'm going to make it much harder on you. I'm going to give you three hours to get the bells! Eat lunch now to build up strength- but! Naruto doesn't get any." He walked closer to us as he said this, looking pointedly at Naruto. "It's your punishment for breaking the rules and trying to eat by yourself." The then addressed the rest of us. "And if anyone tried to feed him, that person will immediately fail." Naruto glared.

"I make the rules." Kakashi said sternly, before leaving us to eat. When he was far enough away, I held my bento out to Naruto.

"Here. Eat. I'll survive on an empty stomach, but you won't." Naruto looked at me confused, and I sighed. "If you don't eat, you will be a hindrance to the team, blah, blah, blah, just take the dang food."

Sasuke offered his food to Naruto as well, agreeing with me. Sakura soon did it, too, saying that she was on a diet and that she did eat as much as Sasuke anyway. Naruto quickly said that he couldn't move his hands so she would have to feed him, and after a moment of hesitation, she gave him some food.

As soon as Naruto swallowed, Kakashi appeared in cloud of smoke, looking angry. "You...! You broke the rules! I hope your ready for the punishment!" Kakashi said threateningly, creating dark clouds overhead with thunder and lightning. "Any last words?"

"B-B-But you said..." Naruto started, shaking and scared.

"Yes...?"

"You said that there were four of us and we'd have to work together so that's why Sakura and..." Naruto trailed off, the momentary burst if courage disappearing. Sasuke and Sakura finished for him, stating that they were a team.
