The Camping Trip ( A Mario Horror Story)

Chapter 4

It was now close to 5 am. Daylight was right around the corner for the group of friends. They continued cutting through the woods as Donkey Kong showed them where to go.

"Donkey Kong, why don't you check and see if we are indeed on the right track," Rosalina advised.

"Whatever," he groaned and started to climb a random tree. He was really starting to get sore and hadn't been to the Orangutan Gym in quite some time. And he also missed his buddy, Diddy. After that thought, Donkey Kong climbed harder and faster to the top of the tree.

Once he got to the top he scanned the area over the horizon.

"We're almost there," he proudly said.
The streetlights and headlights were far more visible now that they got closer.

After another few minutes of walking, they came across a small hut. It looked no bigger than an average room in a medium-sized house.

"Hey look! It's a hut," Yoshi pointed it out.

"What do you think is inside?" Rosalina curiously asked.

"I don't know but we better check it out," Wario urged.

So the group of friends approached the hut. It appeared to be made out of straw and mud that dried long ago. A skull key chain that rested on the front door triggered Peach's memory.

"What if this guy has something to do with those missing kids?" Peach asked.

"Yeah . . ." Waluigi agreed.

"I'm not sure if we should even go in there," Donkey Kong hesitated. "What if it's a trap?"

"Oh come ON," Wario groaned. "Now everything's a freaking trap? Grow some nuts and go in."

Donkey Kong rolled his eyes.

"Fine."

Donkey Kong entered the hut first, followed by the others. It was a relatively small hut. There was a desk with a bunch of papers on it, scattered all over. On the other end of the hut were a bunch of skulls and a boiling pot.

It looked like Mario's head was in there too.

"That's enough for me!" Waluigi said and decided to run for the exit.

While that was happening, Rosalina was going through the old, dusty papers. Maybe there was a clue as to what his motivation is?

She was scanning the papers when she came across one specific one that caught her eyes. It was a sheet of paper that was partially ripped and somewhat crumpled. This one jumbled up her mind because the paper contained all their names.

"What?" she thought, mentally scanning through the piece of paper.
