Hello fellow members of the httyd fandom!

As you may finally realize, I am back to writing stories after long break. Although I did delete my previous books including  Kings and Queens I decided to start new. :)

This is a brand new Hiccstrid story I have been wanting to write for a long time. With all the Race to the edge release date not coming soon enough I thought what way to ease the wait by entertaining you guys with a new Hiccstrid story 😄

Anyway I hope you guys like it.

Narrator's Pov

"Astrid, sweety you are going to be late!" Ingrid Hofferson shouted after her seventeen year old daughter from the kitchen.
In her room, Astrid prepared herself for another cruel day at Berk High. She stuffed her binder in her black bag that she left on her bed last night. She wore a black pullover sweater that had her favorite band on it, dark blue jeans, and black converse. She had her hair braided to the left side of her head.

Once she felt ready, she pulled her sleeves making sure they covered her wrists completely. Then, she swung her bag on her shoulder and left her room. She walked down the stairs and saw her mom hurrying.

"You ready?" her mom asked almost rushing it out of her mouth.

Astrid shrugged her shoulders. "Ready as I'll ever be"

Her mom smile softly. "Oh come on, sweety. You'll be fine"

Astrid nodded her head forcefully and began to walk towards the door. They made their way to the car and climbed in.

Ingrid looked over at Astrid and focused her eyes back on the road. She furrowed her eyes at her daughters choice of clothing in the middle of a heat wave.

"Astrid honey, aren't you burning up?" Her mother asked her.

Astrid glanced at her wrists that were laying on her lap. She fumbly pulled her sleeves higher and hugged them to her chest.

"I think I'm getting a cold" she replied softly.

Her mother instantly replied. "If you begin to feel worse take some medication. Okay?

Astrid nodded as their car stopped I front of her highschool. She took a deep breath and opened the car door.

"Bye sweety!" Her mom said behind her.

Astrid waved bye and walked into the school.

The hallway was filled with noise. Loud jocks tossing a football around, and even louder girls gossiping over their problems that no one is really interested in knowing about.

Astrid managed to slip by unnoticed and reach her locker. She open her locker, but someone smacked it closed  and laughed loudly. Astrid flinched at the abrupt slamming of her locker. She looked to the side and saw the captain of the football team, Snotlout.

"Awe, did I scare you?" He cooed meaninglessly. He laughed and raised his eyebrow. "You're such a loser. Just admit it".

Astrid stared at him, teeth softly clenched. He scoffed, shaking his head, and then walking away pushing  her shoulder so hard her back slammed against her locker. She shut her eyes once she felt the pain rush to her upper and lower back.

That's going to to leave a bruise.

She blinked the tears away from her eyes and opened her lock once again, retrieving her chemistry book and closed her locker.

"Hey Astrid" Heather greeted, startling Astrid.

Astrid smiled and replied. "Hey heather, what's up?"

Heather as been Astrid's friend since kindergarten. They did everything together. Heather played on the volleyball team and was well-known in the school. Astrid was too, but not in a good way. She was known as:

that lonely girl...

that attention whore...

she's in our class?

Heather on the other hand, never left her side and made things alot better for Astrid. The volleyball team is very kind and friendly to her, but that didn't change what the entire school thought. Elsa, Anna, Rupunzel, and Ruffnut were also part of the volley ball team.

"Well, I have been seeking you a date for the dance next month" she squealed.

Astrid looked at her horrified. She shook her head. "No. No I am not going anywhere"

Heather frowned. "Come on, Astrid. It will be good for you. You only have one more year of high school left after this year and you have to experience the fun of it"

Astrid sighed. "I've experienced so many things during these last couples of years and I have had enough of it"

Heather placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I am your best friend and I promised myself I would never leave you hanging. I'm trying to help you"

Astrid smiled. "It's my battle to fight not yours, but I really appreciate what you have done for me" she place her hand on top of Heather's.

"The girls and I care about you alot as a friend Astrid, don't you forget that. Okay?" Heather asked.

"Okay" Astrid grinned, shaking her heading jokingly.

Heather knew what Astrid was going through. After Astrid's dad died in a plane crash, her life went downhill. She wasn't always submitted into depression and never had suicidal thoughts. Alot has happened to her, but Heather is one of the people who has kept her strong.

She worries alot about Astrid after her most recent attempted suicide. Heather found Astrid in one of the bathroom stalls. She had a bottle of perscribed medication which she purposely abused in attempt to end her life. Astrid was beaten by Merida and her two friends the previous day before her attempted suicide and still has the bruises to prove it. This happened a couple months ago. Highschool was never supposed to be like this.

The bell rang for first period. Heather hugged Astrid and said goodbye rushing to her class. Astrid turned around and heading towards her Chemistry class.

Tada? I know many of you are thinking this is totally unbelievable because Astrid is obviously such a bad ass but hey that's what  fanfiction is all about. :)

Anyway Hiccup will soon join the story and I am planning a Senior year sequel for this book if all goes well :)

I hope you liked it! Sorry if it's bad, it's been a while and suddenly jumping back into it...

I'm really rusty.

Stay tuned! :)
