I kept on looking at the side mirror as I drove. It felt like I was being followed. The other voice inside my head started to overpower Annie's. It was shouting and asking me to turn back around.
She's evil. She's got you under her spell.
Even if the voice was louder, the pull inside me was stronger. I stepped on the gas and continued towards my destination.
"Just one last time." I told myself. "I just need to get rid of whatever this is inside me." I argue with the voice. "Just one last time."
But, the car stopped all of a sudden. I didn't step on the breaks nor did I pull the hand break.
"What the ..." I exclaimed as I almost hit my head on the steering wheel.
I warned you. The voice hisses. Stop this madness Mark.
"Stay out of my head." I yelled. I didn't know how strong, but I thought I felt the car shake. It must've worked. The car started again and the voice stayed silent until I got to where I wanted to be.
I got to the house and at the front door. Before I could even knock I took a step back and sat on the stoop. She wasn't there. How I know? I'm not sure. But, I knew she wasn't inside. Still, I waited.
It felt like hours before the headlights of a car shone towards me and I leaped from where I was seated. My heart started to pound hard against my chest.
"She's here."
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
The instant I saw her and heard her voice in person, my insides heat up. "I don't know." I blurted out. "I just ... wanted to see you." I answered honestly. I couldn't stop myself from holding her. Once my hand touched hers, I felt a spark of electricity run through me. The fire started to build up again and all I wanted was kiss her.
FUCK! A small part of me wanted to step away and run as far as my legs would take me. But, my mind and my body wouldn't follow.
Before I could even touch my lips on hers, the other girl whom I didn't even notice was there, pulled us inside. I didn't know how she was able to drag me up the stairs when I was resisting so hard. I tried to yank my hand from her and go back down to where Annie was, but I couldn't. I heard Annie whispering some words I couldn't understand. I still heard her even when the girl took me to what looked like a study.
An older woman joined us inside. She was asking me something. But, all I heard was Annie still whispering. I need you.
I wanted to run down and see what was troubling her, but she walked in the room and I instantly went to her. "What's going on here?"
She and the other girl tried to assure me everything was fine. But, I knew it wasn't. It's as if I could see everything through Annie's eyes. She was scared. Of what?
"Because ... " the other girl, Mae, was saying, "he was making a move on Annie and ... "
Just those words made my anger rise. "He what?" My hands turned to fists. I knew I shouldn't be angry but the ire in me just wanted to come out. I wanted to hit something ... destroy everything ....
But, that soon disappeared when Annie touched me. Like ice cold water poured on hot amber, my anger died down.
I finally got her to myself after some time. She stood there in front of me, looking as confused and scared as I was. She tried to leave but my hand grabbed her, pulling her back in the room. Her voice started to shake again.
