We can't.

What do you mean? Mark glances at me for a while, questioning me with his eyes.

If we fight these three, we'd be putting our shield down. The others outside would take advantage of that. Even with the two of us, we can't fight them all. We need help.

I have a friend.

Great. I just need to call Mae. I haven't stayed in this place long enough to know others.

But, how?

That house ... If Mark's family had decided to move to Korea, they would've bought properties in different places. One of those properties should be a shielded house.

"Mark." I tug at his hand.

He nods. I know that place. It's my parents'. He answers in his mind. But, how do we get out of here? The shield.

I turn to Mark, taking deep breaths, hoping that I'm not wrong about the blue flame coming out of him. It would take too long to tell him about what it can do, so I showed him what I can, hoping he'd get it.

He furrows his brows, then he creases them more when he notices the fire on his fingertips. He looks confused, too.

"Chant it with me." I whisper, holding both his hands as we face each other.

His puzzlement vanishes when I share a mantra with him. He starts mumbling the words with me.

The voices of Jinyoung and the two gradually fade as we slowly vanish in sight.

It worked. I couldn't believe it did. I haven't done it before since I was the only one with a blue flame. I've tried doing it with another witch before but I ended up hurting her because she wasn't strong enough to sustain the power I possess.

The shield Jinyoung has put up around the house was to block me from exiting. But, it doesn't work with Mark. I am able to channel myself through him, allowing me a passage out.

I open my eyes slowly and we're already inside the very house I've imagined. And, just as I expected, it's shielded. Not against me anymore though. Gillian must have seen this coming and prepared this house for Mark's refuge.

Mark's lips turn up slightly, not believing what we just did. I don't either. A relieved giggle escapes my mouth and he starts laughing, too. We hug each other for a longer while. He presses his lips on mine before we let go, realizing we still have more important things to do.

He takes out his phone and starts calling. I do the same.

We check and recheck the shield, layering it with more while waiting for the others to come.

"What about Gillian?" I ask him.

"She'd be here if she wants to." He sighs. He knows how we need her. With her knowledge and powers, we'd be able to face the incoming battle with no fear. Mark pulls me down on the couch, looking really tired as he holds me close to him with his arms around me. "You think this would ever end?" He asks, out of the blue. "Have you seen any future of us living a peaceful life? Or would history repeat itself and we'd be back to where we started ... away from each other?"

I don't know. I've never really seen anything beyond this time. It scares me to think that there is no such thing as happy ever after for the both of us. But, even so, we still have to try. Whether we could end this at this time or not, I'm gonna die trying.

If fate hates us, that it wouldn't allow us to ever be together in peace, then I would find a way to control it. If this time wouldn't be our time, then I'd live again and again until I find the right time for us.
