-Juliette-At the end of the week I was officially moved out of the pack house and (embarrassingly) moved into Alpha Wylde's old room at his parents house.
"You know I'm not a child." I protested as Roc and Eloise walked me up to his parents house.
"I really do wish you could have your own place here in town Juliette." He said with sincerity, but until everything smooths over at least I know you'll be safe with my family...plus my mom is a great cook so you won't go hungry."
I gave him a smile and Eloise took his hand before I followed them inside.
Mrs Wylde came over and embraced us all warmly.
"While I'm upset at the circumstances, I can't deny that I'm pretty excited to have you here my dear Juliette." Diane said enthusiastically. "Now I've set up Rocco's old room as yours and my my husband will be home in time for dinner...so please make yourself at home."
"Thank you Mrs Wylde."
"Oh please honey we know each other well enough for you to call me Diane...now go get settled and then I'm going to need your help."
I turned to face Eloise.
"Sorry we have to get going too, Rocco is needed at the shop and I have to oversee a project for an upcoming pack event...kinda wish you could help me." She said sadly.
I hugged her tightly, "go and be the best Luna for your pack."
Then I turned to face Roc, he too pulled me into a gentle hug, "we'll be back for dinner Jules."
I told them bye and then followed Diane's directions up to my new room.
I had a few boxes of clothes that Clementine had sent over so I unpacked all of that, put garments away in the dresser and the closet before I went back downstairs and found Diane in the kitchen with a beautiful little girl.
"There you are." Diane smiled over at me her sleeves pushed up as she and the little girl were elbow deep in dough. "This is Grace my great-niece and she has come over today to help me make dinner, isn't that right Gracie."
The little beauty smiled up at Diane, her round cheeks displayed precious dimples. I looked at the girl in awe, I had always loved children and couldn't help but want to fawn over this little thing openly.
"Gracie could you tell Juliette hello?" Diane asked.
The little girl turned and faced me fully, her blonde pigtails bouncing from the action, her bright baby blues on full display for me now. "Hi." She sounded shyly.
I wanted to 'awww' so bad but resisted the urge...I mean this little one looked so much like a real life baby doll, I just wanted to pick her up and hug her. But also didn't want to freak her out.
"Right now we are making rolls for dinner then I think Miss Grace can make her signature chocolate pudding for dessert." Diane said happily.
Diane was so lovely, anyone could see she adored the child and possibly longed for her own grandchild...I suddenly felt kind of bad for my sister, seems she faced her own set of problems as the Luna.
I walked over and reached for the dough.
"No!" Grace cried out. "Wash hands."
I chuckled silently and nodded my head, "where are my manners." I walked over to the sink and washed my hands before grabbing an apron and putting it on. "Now miss Grace, what should I do?"
The small girl handed me a glob of dough and showed me how to roll it and then place it on the baking sheet.
I couldn't keep the smile off of my face.
"I knew our Gracie would lift your spirits."
"So Grace." I sounded, "do you like Eloise?"
The little girl looked at me confused.
"You know, I think Eloise has only ever met our little Gracie once, she's been so busy since first coming over to us...but she'll meet her again tonight."
I made light conversation with both Diane and Grace, I found out her name is Grace Kathleen Wylde, her favorite color is pink, she's in daycare and her teachers name is Mrs Parker, and she likes a cartoon called Peppa Pig (which once brought up she would talk of nothing else).
"I'll be right back my dears, I just have to pop over to the butcher to pick up my roast for this evening."
I panicked slightly.
"Uh, I'm not so sure Alpha Roc or my sister want me alone."
"Oh sweet Juliette you won't be, you'll have Grace to keep you company...and she's the best company, aren't you Gracie?"
Grace nodded cutely, a little flour dusted on her forehead. I grabbed a towel and wiped her face carefully.
"Plus I still need help with the dessert." Diane pointed out with a smile. "Trust me when I say Gracie knows how to make the pudding...but if all else fails, just follow the instructions on the box it really is very simple."
I nodded politely, I was still unsure about staying alone with someone's child, anything could happen and I'd be held responsible for this little being.
Once Diane left, Grace showed me where her great-aunt kept the pudding. I grabbed a large bowl from the counter and listened to little Graces directions.
"We need a spoon." She said cutely before moving her step stool to the other side of the counter to grab a wooden spoon, she walked it over to me before going back to collected her step stool and placing back in its previous position next to me. "Mix it and I will put it in there."
She took the packs (that I had opened) and poured them into the bowl before I gave her the spoon and moved to grab the milk.
I poured the milk in and watched her stir the mixture with such determination on her little face.
"So Grace." I said trying to figure this little girl out more. "Where are your parents?"
"Daddy's at work." She stated matter of factly.
I nodded, "and what about mommy?" I asked.
"She's at home."
"Oh." I sounded a little let down. I didn't really know what I was expecting to hear from the little girl but I let it go.
As I moved the bowl into the refrigerator to begin to set I heard the sound of the front door open and was a little relieved to have Diane back.
"Aunt Diane!"
The voice was masculine and I moved to see who it was.
I looked at the man slightly taken back, "Dylan?"
"Juliette." He sounded shocked.
"Daddy!" Grace said happily as she ran over to him.
