-Dylan-I stood on the field, I was covered in blood my knuckles were sore, and Leon approached me.
"Dylan what the fuck happened?!"
"I challenged Dorian and won." I smirked, I was a little out of breath, to be honest I hadn't fought in years and the adrenaline was still pumping through me.
"Y-you killed him?"
I chuckled, my ribs hurt from the action. "No, I beat him unconscious...I made sure this was a fight to submission or unconsciousness...I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of dying."
"But you're serious, you actually won?"
I nodded and held out a crumpled piece of paper.
As custom sees fit, the two Weres in a challenge write out the terms and conditions for the challenge and sign the bottom, this is called the contract, the winner wins and is given the paper as proof of the new change in command.
It's crumpled because when I knocked out Dorian his bride to be was furious and tried to tear it. My wolf let out a vicious growl and frightened her, instead she crumpled it into a ball and threw it at me.
"No shit." Leon sounded in awe. "We've gotta tell the Alpha."
"I'm gonna shift until he gets here, I want to heal as much as I can before I see my girl." I confessed, last thing I need is for Juliette to worry about me, although... her as my private nurse didn't sound too bad.
"Yeah, Grace would probably freak out." He chuckle.
I didn't say anything, I shifted and let my wolf heal me as much as possible. I know when I left the pack house there was no question that Travers had broken more than a couple of my ribs and may have even fractured my jaw, but once I shifted to come home my wolf had taken care of most of it, now I was mostly sore.
Roc took his time getting here, normally I would care but I was getting antsy in my wolf form because I wanted to be with Juliette and Grace.
"What was so damn important?" He growled upon stepping on the the field.
Most of the Harmond pack members were asleep already, it was pretty late already.
Leon handed him the challenge contract. I shifted back and one of the guys running guard tossed me a pair of shorts. Roc read the contract over and over and finally looked at me, "is this true?"
"It is." I said proudly.
"You had no right!"
"Anyone can challenge an Alpha, I don't need permission...I did what I thought was best not only for myself, but these people, as well as what was best for you and your pack!" I sounded angrily.
Roc knew I was right and sighed. "Well then congratulations Alpha Wylde." He said with a smirk before he pulled me into. Brotherly sort of hug, "So what now?"
"I have to inform the council of the power transfer as well as the land rights, I've given him a day to clear Harmond so hopefully by then end of tomorrow I will have the people of Harmond back on their own pack lands."
He nodded, "I guess we should make some calls then."
"Only one call tonight." I protested. "We will inform the council and then I'm going home to be with my girls.
___________
The call with the council was drawn out but ultimately they couldn't find a flaw in any of what happened tonight.
