"Auntie Sophia? Auntie Sophia, you in?" A voice called from the entrance. "It's me, Norah. Aunt Sophia?"
Pale green eyes curiously glanced around the entrance way. Doors lined to her left and one in front of her. To her right held a staircase leading up. She turned her attention onto a mirror to look at herself. Dark locks of hair remained held back in a headband.
After a few minutes, Norah glanced up. Her aunt still hadn't greeted her. "Auntie Sophia?" She yelled once more. Figuring that her aunt must not have heard Norah, she made her way up the stairs. "Auntie Sophia? Are you home, Auntie Sophia?"
A murmur came from one of the rooms. Norah walked up to it and opened it slowly. Inside, instead of her mother's sister, stood a man. The guy looked at her very confused then the confusion on his face became replaced with a small smirk.
"Ah, Norah. I didn't expect you for another day or two. How was your trip from Dublin?" The man asked.
"Who are you?" Norah asked, not recognizing the man especially since her aunt never married, nor had any boyfriends or even house help. Her cheeks flushed, as she noticed the two were together in a bedroom. This was most humiliating.
"Ah, oh rude of me. I'm a friend of your aunt. In sorts, your family has kept in contact with my family for generations." A sly smile crossed his face. "You see, Miss, my family has been friends with yours for the longest anyone can remember. I've been told stories of my great-grandfather spending his childhood with yours."
"And yet I've never met you before. How odd that is."
"Don't get the wrong impression, Miss. I meant to meet you at an earlier date, but the time just seemed to fly passed me."
"You still haven't given me your name and it is improper for a lady such as myself to sit in the same room with an older gentlemen such as yourself, especially seeing how this is a bedroom."
"Ah, forgive me, Miss, but you have a few facts wrong. I am not an older gentleman being the same age of 20 as you. And may I say that you are not a lady for a lady would never dared leave the entrance of a home until the host or hostess had arrived."
Norah felt her face growing even more crimson. How dare he speak to her in such a manner as that. Had he no self respect or even dignity? The female sighed rather loudly as she dusted off her dress. A light green it was, to match the color of her eyes.
After wiping the imaginary dust away, Norah looked at the man, quite annoyed with him. "You still haven't given me a name."
"Impatient you are, Miss. You remind me of your Aunt Sophia. Bless her soul. You always in a rush to learn of things unknown and a healthy curiosity to boot."
"And what of my Aunt? Where is she? Has she gone out for a bit and when shall she be back? I'd like to talk to her seeing as you are being no use to me."
"Ah, Miss, but that be impossible."
Norah studied him for a moment and then asked stubbornly, "And why would that be?"
"Well, you see, Miss, she's dead."
"N-no, she can't be dead. She just cannot be. I wrote to her not very long ago. You must be mistaken," Norah said with tears mounting and finally cascading down her suddenly pallid cheeks. The girl pleaded, " You must be mistaken."
"I'm afraid there is no mistake about it, Miss. She's been dead for over a month now. Bless her soul."
Norah couldn't move/ Her legs felt like tree trucks, rooted deeply into the floorboards. She stared at this man with her heart sinking. Norah couldn't think. She couldn't breath. It was then, quite possibly, that she fainted.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is my first story posted on Wattpad and to be quite honest I might have never posted on here if it wasn't for its app I found on my iPod Touch. Anyway, I suppose enough talk... I'll probably put out another chapter tonight seeing as I am in a writing mood for once. (It's been over 3 years so I better be. Laughs)
I HOPE YOU ENJOY!
