Gabriel smiled as he waved the children away, a basket of food held in all three of their hands. He then looked over at Norah who leaned against the wooden frame of the stairs. Her light green eyes quietly watching him with interest.

He smiled brightly at her as the male walked slowly towards her. Gabriel so wanted to kiss her then and there, but held back. He wasn't about to make Norah feel uncomfortable around him. "So what would you like to do today, Miss Norah?"'

"Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's Mrs. Norah now." The girl returned his smile taking his comment in stride.

"Ah, yes, Mrs. Norah." Gabriel murmured as he leaned in and kissed her gently on the mouth showing her all feelings he held for her. What surprised him wasn't the fact she didn't try smacking him or even laughing in his face before turning away, but what surprised him was she actually, for a moment, returned the kiss.

Though she pulled away, shortly after the kiss began, to Gabriel, it felt like forever. A good forever. His eyes closed slightly. His lips pursed open wanting to feel her lips on his once more. A feeling of wanting filled and warmed his belly.

Looking at Norah, he could see she felt the same. The only difference was her lower lip became lodged between her teeth.

"Hey you," Gabriel whispered. His eyes (despite their being an eye patch across one) locked with hers. She couldn't look away. Norah touched his face, mesmerized suddenly.

It took her a moment to speak.

"Hey," she whispered back. Her hand touched his cheek.

"What is on your mind?"

"This." She said, her eyes dark as she kissed him gently on the lips. This time, neither pulled away until a need for breath overcame them, and even then they remained together for a few moments longer.

Gabriel smiled, his eyes soft as he studied her. "That is an interesting thing to have upon your mind Mrs. Norah."

Norah giggled as she whispered, voice husky. "Perhaps there is more upon my mind then just that."

Gabriel's eyes lighted in curiosity. "You aren't drunk are you Norah? The orphans' haven't slipped you anything have they?"

"Not at all," she replied, kissing him lightly on the forehead. "I just realized I may be in love with you."

Gabriel's heart skipped a beat as Norah began leading him up the stairs.
