The days seemed to fly by and before Norah knew it her wedding day was on her doorstep. As soon as she work up that morning, servants from her mother and father flourished around her, and Gabriel was sent away from the house for it was improper to look at a lady before the ceremony.
Norah did as she was told and it wasn't long before she was sent away from her home in the strangest, fluffiest dress. Her hair was done high and as equally as puffy as her dress. But besides all of that, Norah was miserable.
She felt even more like that as she was escorted out onto the walkway. Her eyes widened slightly as 'Here Comes The Bride' began to play. A slight panic hit her as her father held out his arm to her. He was going to see her down the isle as was proper.
"Daddy," Norah whispered as they slowly walked forward. It seemed so far away. "Daddy, I don't want to do this. Please Daddy, call it off." Tears slightly formed in her eyes underneath the big white veil. No one but her, knew of the tears.
"I'm sorry, Pumpkin." her father replied. "But this is what's best."
Her voice wavered. "Daddy. Daddy, please."
"You just have the pre-wedding jitters sweetheart." As he stopped. They had reached their destination. He kissed her forehead.
"No, Daddy."
But it was to late he was already making his way back to his seat. And in front of her, Gabriel stood straight and tried not to look straight at her.
The vows and the priest talking all seemed far off and surreal to Norah. She only snapped back into reality when the priest turned to her posing the question, "Will you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
She looked at Gabriel and then out into the crowd. How desperately she wished to scream no. But she couldn't, there was no where to go or even anyone to turn to. "Y-yes." she replied shaking slightly.
The priest then turned to Gabriel and asked the same of him.
Gabriel was quick to respond. "Yes," he said.
"Then with the power vested in me. You are now man and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Gabriel slowly opened the veil reveling Norah's puffy-from-crying face. "Your so beautiful," he whispered before giving her a quick kiss on the mouth and then one on both of her eyes. "Even if your crying."
"Witnesses of the crowd, I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Garrett."
Everyone cheered and Norah broke down crying once more.
