Gabriel awoke with a jolt. She had invaded his dreams.

"Norah," Gabriel whispered. His voice raw. He rose out of bed. He had to see her. Gabriel rushed to her, not bothering to even create any light to see by. He had to get to her. He need to see her.

He opened the door slowly. By the light of the moon, Gabriel saw her body rising and falling underneath the cocoon of blankets. She was safe. Gabriel sighed in relief glad that his nightmares were nothing but that.

"Norah." whispered Gabriel as he crawled into her bed despite his better judgment. He had to be certain. He had to make sure she was real. His hand lightly brushed away her hair tucking it behind her ear.

The girl's eyes fluttered open, a look of horror befalling her features in the moonlight. "Gabriel," she spoke softly the horror in her eyes being replaced with uncertain curiosity. "What are you doing here?"

Gabriel looked abashed. "I'm sorry." He started to get off her bed, turn away, and hope that by the next morning she'd forget all about their little incident, but he didn't even get that far. Norah's hand touched his arm forcing him still.

"Please don't Gabriel." Norah begged. "I'm tired of you walking off leaving me with more questions then answers, besides I doubt I'll sleep now."

Gabriel looked at her and the diamond on her hand. He had a right to tell her. It was just he was so use to being independent. For most of his life he hadn't needed to answer to many, but now that Norah was in his life he supposed it be best to change that despite how embarrassing it might be.

"I had a bad dream, Miss," Gabriel mumbled, cheeks turning red. "You were gone and I couldn't find you. You were hurt."

Norah smiled softly at him, finding it slightly cute he worried about her. "Gabriel, there isn't a thing to worry about. I'm right here."

"But there is, Miss." Gabriel whispered. "You don't know much about me."

"Then lets change that."

And that's when Gabriel spilt everything. How he was a bounty hunter, receiving wounds from the people he had to chase, he lost his eye from one man who was so desperate not to go to jail. He even told her why he felt so obligated to the orphans. Gabriel explained that many of the children who were placed in orphanage were because of him and the job he was forced to do. They were all placed there because no others to take care of them. They would spend years without their parents and years without a proper home.

It was then, after all things were explained that Norah and Gabriel began to talk more. They talked for hours and barely noticed when the sun peaked from behind the buildings. They discussed everything that was on their minds, wanting to learn everything of one another. Norah smiled softly a few times at him as they talked and Gabriel gave her a smiles in return. He felt better having gotten everything off his chest and Norah was glad to finally be informed of everything. They were finally on the page.

"I'm glad we had this talk," Norah spoke eyes looked on Gabriel. Her hand lightly touching the edges of his eye patch.

"As am I," he said. "Though there is something I must tell you, Norah that hopefully you won't be to mad at me about."

"What could that be?"

"Well you know when I told you a few days ago that we wouldn't be wed until spring." His voice trailed off.

Norah felt her stomach flop. She had a bad feeling about this. "Yes," she said, hesitantly.

"I lied."

The female bit her lip. "How long?"

"More like seven days. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have lied to you, but I felt if you thought we had more time, you would be somewhat alright with the idea before the day of our wedding. Though my pledge holds true. I won't force you into anything."
