Enter, stranger, but take heed

Of what awaits the sin of Greed

For those who take, but do not earn,

Must pay most dearly in their turn.

So if you seek beneath our floors

A treasure that was never yours,

Thief, you have been warned, beware

Of finding more than treasure there.

Far beneath ground, in the depths where no light could reach, many secrets were held under lock and key. Where many witches and wizards obtained their gold and fortunes, but unknowing to how extensive the advanced security system placed upon the building of Gringotts.

Running underground throughout the city London, magical carts transported these witches and wizards to their vaults. Farther down one would go, the more security was placed such as the thefts downfall, which washes away all enchantments and will through the cart off the tracks if enchantments are found. Nearing the old pureblood family vaults, the security increases further. Magical beasts such as Sphinxes and Dragons guard vaults. The harm that comes to the animals would be a disgrace to a Magizoologist if ever encountered.

Looking closer at one of the Dragons, one would see that the once shiny, lustrous scales of the beast would be dull and unattractive. Its great wings cowered as they covered the dragons head, unlike most dragons this one had only back legs. Protruding from its back long bloody spines seemed to increase the size of the dragon as well as the long tail which was slashed and marked up by scars. Lastly, the most shocking of all were the dragon's eyes, the once bright red eyes were now dull and clouded. A knowledgeable wizard would be able to distinguish the dragon guarding the vault—the Lestrange vault to be exact—the large dragon being a Ukrainian Ironbelly.

For over fifty years the dragon was imprisoned, not that anyone would care. However, this dragon was special, this dragon was actually a witch named Gwendolyn Presley better known as Gwen. Gwen was a dragon, plain and simple, most witches and wizards believed she was an extraordinary animagus, but in reality she wasn't in more ways than one she was a dragon majority of the time. As the years went by the knowledge of Gwendolyn Presley faded as her humanity diminished as well. Now the only thing left was her defeated, chained up Dragon exterior guarding the Lestrange vault.
