A gentle hand pressed up against the screaming woman's shoulder. This action made Gwen shriek even louder.
"Miss you're ok." A soft voice soothed, "You are ok."
Gwen tried replying, "B-b-but e-everything is dark. I-I-I c-can't see. Black. No-no-no-no-no NO! I can't go back! Not again-" Everything came out in choppy sentences as Gwen attempted to form a sentence.
"Go back where?" the soothing voice questioned taken aback. "You're in the middle of the woods. Though I am concerned with all these chains littering the ground."
The only sound was Gwen's breathing as she fumbled around the grass to find that there were indeed chains and metal collars that once held her dragoness form in the gloomy chambers under Gringotts. The metal felt cool in her palms as she quickly shoved the metal pieces away. Breathing heavily Gwen lifted her head to the sound of the voice and managed to ask, "Who are you?"
"Misty." The voice or well Misty responded. "I'm a Nymph" she added happily. Though as Misty faced the woman in front of her she noticed how her once stormy blue eyes were now clouded over with a misty film rendering this woman's sight. "Are you blind?" she asked uncertain as the woman before seem so unfocused.
Feeling the movement in front of her Gwen was able to take in Misty the Nymph's voice. Her voice was so calming it began to diminish the anxiety that Gwen had felt earlier. Blinking Gwen was still trying to see her surroundings. Tilting her head Gwen picked up on the sounds of a brook flowing freely over rocks while the wind stirred the leaves above. Bending her fingers Gwen realized her accomplishment, after all those years she was still able to revert to her original form. Now really how long had she been imprisoned? All the years seemed to meld into one continuous form of torture.
"Where are you from?" the Nymph asked as she pulled Gwen from her thoughts.
Glancing in the general direction of Misty, Gwen ignored her questioned forming her own instead, "What year is it?"
Taken aback Misty answered, "1998 I believe" the nymph pondered. "Oh yes of course the trees have been whispering about a battle for a while now. Said something about a major confrontation and many deaths. Where have you been sweetie? You'd have to be living under rock not to know what has been happening in the wizarding world or a muggle." The nymph declared.
Eyes widening Gwen froze. Taking in the news the nymph had offered brought pain to Gwen's face. For over fifty years she had been down in that hell hole. Being beaten and nearly starved to death by the workers of Gringotts bank. And for the first time in her life Gwen felt tears pouring down her face caused by all the pain she had endured throughout her life.
Now looking at Gwen, Misty watched as her face twisted into one of pain, "Oh dear I do hope you're not a muggle. That'd mean I have to..."
Misty never finished as Gwen angry cut her off, "I'm no muggle." She said it so sharply that Misty took a step back from the young woman in front of her.
The nymph watched Gwen as she saw a long dragon tail trailing the young woman as she stood up. "What are you?" Misty back away uncertain.
Gwen paused, what was she? Was she a witch? A dragon? A slave? A monster? But after all the adventures she had with Newt; Newt the only wizard that seemed to accept Gwen for who she was. He had her loyalty, her obedience and the only one who was able to calm her during one of her rages. The only lesson she learned was that someone like her would never be accepted within the wizarding community. "An abomination." Gwen whispered thinking back to a distant memory of betrayal she'd never forget.
Misty looked at the young woman in front of her the only difference was that the dragon tail that seemed to have a mind of its own as it swished from side to side.
"Look why don't you spend a couple nights here by the water spring." Misty offered.
Shaking her head Gwen sniffed, "No. I need to find someone and I'm not sure where to start."
"Who?"
"I need to find Newton Scamander. Any ideas?" As the name slipped through her lips Misty swore she had heard a slight growl escape the woman's mouth.
Misty pursed her lips as the blind woman watched her intently, "Newton Scamander you say?" Misty bent down toward the spring and dipped her hand in the water creating ripples. Watching the rippling spring Misty saw her answer. "Looks like if you want to find him I'd start by tracking down a boy named Rolf Scamander. To do that you'd have to go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."
Nodding slowly Gwen bit the inside of her mouth. "Alright. I got this. Thanks for your help Misty."
Misty opened her mouth, "You're not leaving now are you?"
"I am I have nothing else to do except to find Newton Scamander." Gwen said. "He has something I want."
Walking only a few steps Gwen reached down deep within her soul to find her inner fire. And right before the nymphs eyes the woman with a dragon tail morphed into a very large Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon with gashes and scars adorning the body. Snorting Gwen looked back at the nymph and now in her dragon form could clearly see the small silhouette of Misty. A slim looking build, with water drenched hair and what looked to be webbing in between her fingers. Misty starred at the dragon before her as she felt her own body begin to morph into water as her own fear creeped over her wavering happy persona. Creating a small puddle, the puddle slowly retreated to the fresh spring.
Sighing Gwen opened her wings and took to the sky. Heading west Gwen began to navigate herself toward Hogwarts. Narrowing her brows in determination Gwen had one thought on her mind: I'm coming for you Newton Scamander!
