The following evening, I am getting ready for my first date with Paul. I get into my dark burgundy dress and some black pumps. I fix my makeup and put my watch / bracelet set. I curl my hair and I smile at myself in the mirror.

Rachel walks in, she leads today. She smiles at my fate outfit she chose for me before she hugs me. Jacob is about to drive her to the airport to catch her flight back to Hawaii. I will miss my older cousin, but she has a husband and baby back home. Rebecca went home yesterday while I was a Sam's.

I knock on the door catches my attention. I hear uncle Billy open it and he greets Paul. I take a deep breath before flattening out my dress. Once Billy calls my name, I walk to the living room slowly, hoping and praying I won't fall on my face.

"You look beautiful." Paul compliments. "Really."

"Thanks; are we ready to go?" I ask.

"I want a picture." Billy calls before we reach the door. "Your parents couldn't capture your very first date, your uncle will."

I blush and Paul wraps his arm around me. I smile brightly when Billy tells me, then he snaps the picture. He dismisses us after taking right at three pictures.

"That's sweet; he wants to capture the moments your parents missed." Paul whispers as he opens my door for me.

"I know; I love my uncle." I tell him as I slide into his vehicle.

He drives us to a fancy Italian place. He holds my hand as we enter the building.

"Lahote." Paul tells the male clerk.

"Right this way, guys." He flashes us a smile before he motions for us to follow.

We are seated at a candlelit table and handed two menus.

"I'm Darren, and I'll be your waiter." He smiles again. "What can I get you two to drink?"

"Coke is fine." I tell him kindly.

"Sweet tea, yeah." Paul grumbles.

We open our menus; although, I already know what I want. Darren brings us our drinks.

"Are you ready to order?" He asks, taking out his mini notebook.

"I want a baked chicken Parmesan." I reply.

"I want chicken Alfredo." Paul says.

Darren scribbles down the order before he speed walks towards the kitchen. Poor kid is intimidated by us. I frown at his youthfulness and I take a sit of my soda.

"The poor kid is intimidated by us." I pout.

"Boohoo." Paul grumbles.

I kick him under the table as Darren brings us our food. I thank him and I tip him a five dollar bill. Paul smiles at my good deed before we both begin to eat.

"That was amazing." I tell Paul as he opens my door for me.

"I am glad you liked it; I have another stop to make with you." He tells me.

He is silent the whole ride to Port Angeles. We were just in Seattle, in case you're wondering. He stops at a rose garden and he escorts me to the gazebo.

Paul takes my hands in his. "Would you like to go steady?"

I smile at his cheesiness. "Yes, I'll go steady with you."

Paul kisses me and he pulls out a promise ring. I nod my head in acceptance. He puts it on my left hand and he walks me back to his truck. He opens the door for me and closes it. He drives me home and he walks me to the door.

"Will you be at Sam's tomorrow?" He asks.

"Yeah; I like going there." I smile.

"Good; see ya then." He kisses my cheek before walking away.

I walk in and there stands Jacob with his arms crossed.

"Where were you?" He growls.

"You know I went on a date with Paul; we went to Seattle to eat; then to the rose garden in Port Angeles, where I became his official girlfriend." I reply, crossing my arms as well.

Billy claps at my bravery and tells me to make supper for him and Jacob. I kiss Jacob's and Billy's cheeks before I go to the kitchen. I make them a pot of spaghetti before going to my room. I grab some pajamas and I go to the bathroom.

I take a twenty minute shower then I dry myself off. I put my pajamas on and I go to the kitchen. I wash the dirty, empty dishes. I put them away then I report to my room.

I climb into my bed, exhausted from my date as cooking for those two. I curl underneath my blanket, cold and wishing I had received the wolf gene from mama. I close my eyes and I fall asleep.
