The next morning, when the pack is gone, it is unusually warm. I get out of bend and u look out the window. The sun is high. I turn a fan on and I put on a black and white bikini. I put my tulle skirt on and I go out back, where I find Emily.
I lay on the lawn chair beside Emily and I let the sun rays hit me. Emily goes inside and pours us some sweet tea on i.e. We sip our drinks whole soaking in some sun.
Kim joins us, with Rachel and Rebecca. Billy is busy ad the girls are visiting, wanting to see me. They all strip to their bikinis and lay out with us. My cell rings. I look at the screen and see its uncle Billy.
"Hey Billy." I greet. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, just checking in." He says generously. "Have Rachel and Rebecca made it?"
"Yes." I reply.
"Has the pack left?" He asks more seriously.
"Before I woke." I reply. "Now, I'm soaking up the sun with the girls."
"Alright doll; if I hear anything about the boys before you do, I'll cal Sam's house phone." Billy says. "So, you'll know what it's about."
I agree and I hang up. I lay back in the lawn chair and I feel the heat of the sun on my bare stomach. I close my eyes as I listen to the girls chat with Emily. Emily loves it when Rachel and Rebecca visit, because they usually stop by here at least once before they leave.
I walk inside the house and I go straight to the bathroom. I lock the door and I start the shower water, letting it get hot. While waiting, my cell phone rings from the counter. I pick it up without checking caller ID.
"Hey, Mel! It's Katie!" Pauls sisters voice rings my eardrums.
"Hey, Katie." I chuckle at her enthusiasm.
"I'm lonely without big brother, come over." Katie grumbles. "Mama says it's okay."
"Alright, let me get dressed." I tell her.
"Okay, see you in a bit." Katie peeps before hanging up.
I hang up the phone before stripping out of my clothes and stepping under the water. I wash my hair firstly then I move on to washing my body. I shiver as I step out and the cool air from the fans hit me. I get changed into something cool.

I pull my hair back into a high ponytail before I leave the house. I skip out to Jared's truck and climb into the drivers set. I start it up and I drive to Paul's.
Anne lets me on immediately. "Hey, baby doll." She greets me with a hug. "Come in, Katie's in her room."
I jog up the stairs and I find Katie's room. She squeals when she sees me and she jumps up from her bed. She gives me a massive hug before pulling me further into her room. She shuts her door and we sit on her bed. We are wearing the same shorts, just different tops.
"Girl, you have an amazing body." Katie compliments. "I love it!"
I smirk. "I do too."
She playfully pushes me and my cell rings. I check the caller ID and its from home.
"Hey Emily." I reply.
"Mel, Jake is hurt." Emily says sadly. "Billy just called. The pack and Carlisle is at their house checking on him."
I throw my phone down and I run down the stairs, almost tripping on the bottom step. I throw myself in Paul's truck.
"Baby, baby." Anne stops me. "Let me drive you to Billy's."
I nod my was, tears filling my eyes. She helps me towards her car and she flies towards Billy's. Sam hugs me as I hear Jacob's screams.
"They are having to rebreak his ribs." He tells me.
I whimper as another scream comes to play. Billy smiles sadly at me and he starts talking to Sue. I sit on the porch with Leah. Bella comes flying up the dirt road in her truck right as Carlisle Cullen steps out of Billy's truck.
"Bella, he's asking for you."
"Of course he is." I mumble.
I have Anne drive me back to her house, because I left my phone in Katie's room. I walk inside and Paul is here.
"Hey, Mel." He greets. "What are you doing here? Not that I mind."
I giggle. "When Emily called me about Jacob, I threw my phone on Katie's bed and ran out."
"Yeah, and I had to stop the crying mess from driving your truck." Anne adds.
Paul stares at me blankly and he nods. I jog upstairs ad Katie steps out of her room. She hands me my phone and she hugs me.
"Is he okay?" She asks.
I nod. "He will be, he's a big boy."
Katie smiles and we walk downstairs. Paul drives me home later that night. He kisses me on the nose before I get out. I walk inside and Emily greets me. Sam is out on patrol.
I report to my room and lock the door behind me. I change into some pajamas and I let my hair down. I climb into my bed and I am soon fast asleep.
