Sam is letting me tag along to the training. I get dressed into something simple and I go outside and I walk up to Paul's wolf. He purrs and he lays down. I climb on his back and he stands. I squeal at the height then he trots through the trees.
I hop off his back when we reach the clearing. I sit on a rock beside Jacob and I watch as the Cullen's all arrive. Jacob ignored me for Bella. Which I expected. Jasper allows me to tag along with him for a walk.
"I have experience with newborns." He tells me. "I was nineteen and in the army when I met a beautiful lady, she was called Maria. Little did I know, she was a blood sucking monster. She changed me to help train her newborns." He pauses. "I left; then I met Alice."
Alice skips up and kisses Jasper's cheek then she hugs me.
"Hey, Mel." Alice smiles. "How are you and Mr bad boy wolf?"
I giggle at her nickname for Paul. I hear his doggy chuckle. "We are fine."
I sit down on Sam's back as the Cullen's begin to fight against each other. I smirk as Alice is going up against Jasper. Rosalie stands beside me at the trees. I think she is getting along with me now.
"Rose, what's your story?" I ask her.
"I was with an amazing man."she says dreamily. "One night, I was walking through the streets going towards the town. He was in a corner with his pals; they called me over to them. He tried taking my clothes off. I fought them off, of course. They beat me, left me for dead. Carlisle found me." She smiles at Carlisle. "Emmett was mauled by a bear, I saved him."
I smile kindly at her. "I hope you don't hate me."
"Oh Melinda." She coos. "I can't hate you , you're adorable. Plus, I envy humans. I got that took away from me without a choice."
"I wouldn't choose immortality." I mumble.
"And that makes me like you even more." She smirks. "It's why I dislike Bella, she is choosing to become immortal."
I nod in agreement. "That's crazy; even for her."
Rosalie high fives me and Paul gives us a confused look, I know he heard our conversation. Edward has a smug, yet understanding look on his face at Rosalie and my conversation.
I ride on Paul's back when it's time to head towards home place. I skip inside and I sit on the couch. Paul walks in his cut off shorts and no shirt, and plops down beside me.
"You like the leeches?" He grumbles.
"I do, actually." I smile. "I prefer Rosalie, but I like them all. Jasper seems to know what he's doing, he has experience with newborn vamps."
Paul holds my hand, he knows I have a nice nature. He kisses the back of my hand before he snatches the remote from my hand. I gasp and I take it back. He smirks at my pouty lip and he kisses my cheek. He goes to the kitchen to check on Emily while I watch tv.
"Babe, foods ready." Paul whispers in my ear.
I follow him to the kitchen and grab the plate Emily has made for me. I sit between Quil and Embry. Paul is stuck between Leah and Sam. I wink at Sam and he puts his hand on Paul's leg, teasing him.
"Sam? What the fuck?!" Paul jumps up., his chili knocking over into the white tablecloth.
"Clean it up, boys." Emily scolds Paul and Sam. "Now!"
I smirk and I head towards my room. I change into some comfy pajamas and I climb into my bed. I curl up on my side and Paul climbs in bed behind me. He wraps his arms around me from behind. I drift off to sleep easily, wrapped in the warmth of Paul's arms.
