What About Us

Chapter 7

I wake up to the smell of breakfast. I roll over and find the bed is empty other than me when i set up i feel a shooting pain between my legs which makes me smile at the memory of last night. I get out of bed and go to the bathroom i brush my teeth and hair and on my way out of the bed room i grab my blanket and wrap it around my soldiers. When i walk into the kitchen i see Carter cooking breakfast he is wearing only his boxers and a T-shirt i walk over to him and wrap my arms around his waist " good morning beautiful " he laughed "morning" i mumble in his back "how do you feel this morning " he turns around and leans against the counter he kisses my forehead "sore and hungry " i kiss him playfully "well i am cooking eggs, toast, and ham its almost done so set down " he says turning back to the stove i go to the table and sit after a few minutes of waiting i lay my head down on the table and go back to sleep

"Ray. Ray honey wake up."
Carter taps my soldier i set up to see Carter holding a plate full of food rubbing my eyes i set up
"Hey " i mumble
He smiles and kisses my temple he sets the plate on the table "ok eat up " i start scoffing down the breakfast he made
I had no idea he was such a good cook!
"Carter where did you learn how to cook this is awesome! " he sets his elbows on the table and smiles his sexy crooked grin "i watch a lot of cooking shows " he gestures at the plate in front of me "you seem hungry " i blush "yah i didn't get to eat last night "
His smile fades
"Ray you need to start taking better care of yourself i love you too much to see you fade before my eyes " he grabs my hand and brings it up to his lips he lightly brushes his lips agent my wrist and mumbles 'i love you' h3 said 'i love you ' i want so much to say it back but i think its too soon
Well i cant talk about too soon after last night
Once i have finished breakfast Carter and i sit in the living room watching sponge bob when Carter lets out a long sigh "Ray i need to tell you something" i sit up
"Whats wrong?" I say looking in to his eyes trying to find some sort of emotion but all i can find is sadness. "Carter. What is it tell me " i say grabbing his hand.
He let out a long breath "its ok its just i going on vacation with my mom i thought you would be mad at me for leaving you here " he said giving my hand a believable grip "i really don't want to go but my mom is making me and we will be gone for about three weeks " i hug him i dig my head in to the crook of his neck "its ok Carter i really dont care " i kiss the skin on his neck "when are you leaving " i say sitting up and looking into his eyes "in two weeks but i plan to make them in to the best two weeks ever starting now!" He jumps to his feet sweeping me off my feet picking me up bride style he walks me into the kitchen i wrap my arms around his soldiers and kick me legs back and forth he looks in to my eyes "Ray i think im in love with you " i kiss him slowly wind my hands on his hair he sets me on the counter and pulls away
"Ray i have said i love you so much today and when i say it you you act like i have said nothing. " he looks in my eyes "Ray did i do something? Do you regret last night?" He looks like he is about to cry "Carter stop i do love you it just that i thought it was too soon and i did want to be too eager to throw myself at you. And i do not regret last night i just wish that it wasn't so soon " i say with tears in my eyes "Ray" Carter says i look up in to his eyes "i love you " he says looking at me with his warm hazel eyes "i love you too " he smiles and kisses me again
