What About Us

Chapter 8

Carter has been staying at my house for about a week and he has taken me on a date everyday of that week
he took me to the restaurant we didn't to go to on my birth day. We went to the zoo and saw the pandas. He bought me a stuffed panda from the gift shop. We we went to the carnival where Carter attempted to win me every prize there. I only got one. Which he complained about the games being unfair.

Right now i am laying in bed watching Carter sleep he looks so young and calm when he is sleeping. With his guard down i can't help but to feel every moment i feel in love with him.
I reach out and brush some hair which feel in his eyes away his eyes slowly open. When he sees me a grin spreads across his face. He closes his eyes still smiling
"You are one creepy being you know that" he giggled "watching me sleep"
I smile and lay my head on his chest he wraps his arm around my soldier
"I love you Ray " he whispers in my ear. I smile "love is a big word Carter " i hear him let out a breath"yah love is a big word yet it still isn't the right word to describe how i feel for you. What i feel is so much more than 'love' but it is the only word that even comes close" i set up and look in his eyes "i love you " is all i could say before Carter kisses me he is still laying down so i get in his lap he has hos hands on my hips and i had my hands tangled in hos hair he pulls away "Ray i love you " he kisses my forehead "guess where im taking you today " he sets back. I am still on his lap. I put my finger on my chin pretending to think. "Well where haven't you taken me." He smirks "today i am taking you to the beach " "oh i have never seen the beach before! This will be fun! What should i bring " i say jumping a little on his hips
"Something to swim in, sunblock, water shoes the rocks around the tide pools are sharp, a beach towel and what ever else you might need." I jump off the bed "this is going to be so fun! " i shout and i hear my aunt say "what is?" I run out pf my room in to the kitchen "Carter is taking me to the beach! " i say jumping up and down she frowns. "Look sweetheart i was ok with him taking you to the carnival and zoo because they were in a twenty mile radius the beach is about fifty miles away. Im sorry but no you cant go " i just look at her dumbfounded "but aunt may ...." she cuts me off "no buts im sorry but no is my final answer"

I run back to my room in tears when i open and slam my door shut i hear Carter in the shower whistling the rubber duckie song from sesame street i cant help but to laugh at this he is so funny sometimes

After about twenty minutes later Carter walks out pf the bathroom with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist his hair and chest glistening with the water

Man times like this make me wonder what is a guy like him doing with a girl like me

He sees i have been crying and runs over to my side.

"Ray. Ray what is wrong?" He asks crouched on the floor

"Nothing. But aunt may said we cant go to the beach "

"Oh well it was a long shot as is. Right? Look ill make it up to you just i have to go to the store first ill be back soon "

He kisses the top of my head,gets dressed and walks out of my room

*time skip three hours *

Carter is still gone and im worrying a path on front of the door when my aunt gets a text and smiles
"Ray. honey i need you to go to the store for me here is the list" she hands me a foot and a half long list but before i can protest she says "and you need to go now please "
She knows i cant say no to her when she says please
So she gives me the money and the keys and i leave

After an hour of shopping i get back and see Carter's truck in the driveway
Forgetting all of the groceries in the car i run into the house
"Carter? Carter! "
I see him standing in the kitchen making a sandwich
He is wearing swimming trunks and a T-shirt both are wet
He has a snorkel and goggles on his head
"Oh hay babe " he says "whats up" he walks over to the island and puts the sandwich in a cooler and closes it
"Are you serious? " i almost scream "where the fuck were you!"

He smiles " the beach " he says coolly

"Oh i see if i cant go to the beach thats not stopping you from going right?!" Now i am yelling but before i can say any thin else Carter starts laughing like an idiot and i can feel my face turn red
"REALLY YOU ARE GOING TO LAUGH AT ME!?"
Thenhe picks me up and throws me over his shoulder
"CARTER PUT ME DOWN NOW! "

i can tell he is enjoying this
"Sorry sugar "
I start punching and kicking when he takes me out side to the back yard and sets me down i whirl around and was about to hit him when i see the whole back yard is covered in sand and there is  a small pool now and tears start to brim in my eyes "Carter you did this" i say breathlessly He walks over to me and slips his hands around my waist and whispers in my ear "Well you couldn't go to the beach so i brought the beach to you " i turn around and kiss him He picks up and i wrap my legs around his waist and my hands in his hair when i hear a "Uhhhumm " behind us and i pull away from him
but i still have my legs around his waist and i turn around and see y aunt in a lawn chair she has her sunglasses on. Her People magazine on her lap "right here" she points at her self.
"Well Carter do you want to swim. "
He gets his big mischievous grin on his face and i try to get out of his arms when he tightens his grip around me and jumps in the pool with me in his arms as soon as i reach the surface i grab him and jump on his sholders " Carter you jerk now my clothes are wet! "
"Well" he says pushing me off his sholders " you could take them off" he finishes bitting my neck "still here "my aunt says no even looking up from her magazine
