Chapter 29

Selena's P.O.V.

I began applying a second coat of mascara on. 'There perfect.' I thought. I put my mascara away. I took my red lipstick out of the drawer. I held the lipstick near my dress to see if the shades matched. Luckily they did. I began applying the lipstick on. I heard a quiet knock on my door. "Come in." I said. I put the lipstick on my bottom lip.

The door slowly creaked open. I looked over and saw my mom. "Hey mom." I said. I began rubbing my lips together to even out the lipstick. My mom walked over to my vanity and stood behind me. "You look so beautiful sweetie." she said. I put the cap on the lipstick then put it back in the drawer. I heard a knock on the door and my step-dad entered. "Wow! It looks like you're ready for prom." he said. I giggled.

"It's just a party." I said. "Well you look beautiful. But are you sure you aren't over dressed for the occasion?" my mom asked. "No it's Hollywood themed." I replied. "Then you look perfect." my stepdad said. I smiled. "So do you have a date to this party?" my mom asked. 'Well uhm sorta.' I thought. "Kinda. I mean we are going as friends." I replied.

"Who with?" my step-dad asked. 'This really amazing and sexy guy at my school.' I thought. "Justin." I replied. My step-dad nodded. I looked down at two pairs of earrings. I couldn't decide which ones to go with. I looked back into the mirror. I fixed the loose hairs that were falling out of my pinned back hair.

"Well we'll let you get finished getting ready." my stepdad said. He held out his hand and my mom grabbed it. They left my room and closed the door behind them. I fixed the loose hairs again.

On each side an even amount of hair fell out. 'Ugh forget it! I'll just leave these pieces out.' I thought. I twisted the pieces of hair then let them spin out so they looked curled. I looked back down at the earrings. 'Why is it so hard to pick earrings?' I thought. I heard the doorbell ring.

"Justin, already?' I thought. I clicked the home button on my phone. 6:45 it read. Taylor's party started in half an hour. I looked at the earrings. 'How did I lose track of time?' I thought. Someone knocked on my door. "Justin's here." my mom said excitedly. "Okay, be right out." I said.

I picked up the old earrings and put them in. I stood up and straightened my dress out. I slipped my black stilettos on. I opened my door. I walked down the hallway. I turned and saw Justin in the hallway.

Justin's P.O.V.

I put my tux jacket on. My mom came in my room. "Justin you look so good." she said. My mom walked over to me and gave me a hug. My mom let go of me and pulled out her phone. "I have to show your father this." she said. She held up her phone. "Smile." she said happily. I smiled. I heard her phone snap a picture.

She moved her phone down and looked at her screen. "That's a good one." she said with a smile. I walked over to my mom and she showed me the screen of her phone. "You should send that one to Dad." I said. My mom nodded in agreement. She sent the photo to my dad. I went over to my bed and took the red pocket handkerchief off my bed. "Here let me do it." my mom said.

I handed the pocket handkerchief to my mom. She began folding it up. "You're growing up to fast." my mom said. "I love you mom." I said. "I love you too sweetie." she said. My mom put the pocket handkerchief in the pocket that was located on my chest. I had spent 3 hours in the tux store to find the shade of red to match Selena's dress. "You better get ready to go." my mom said.

My mom hugged me. We both let go. "Just promise to send me a picture of you two together." my mom said. "I promise." I said. My mom walked me out to the driveway. "Have fun." she said. "Bye mom." I said. She waved goodbye to me as I got in the car. "So are we going to Selena's?" the driver asked. "Yeah." I said. The driver backed out of the driveway; and we drove to Selena's house.

My driver stopped by the flower shop before we went to Selena's. I bought roses and got back in the car. The driver drove to Selena's house and parked in the driveway. I got out of the car and walked up to Selena's front door. I nervously knocked on the door. I heard someone yell, "Coming!"

The door opened and I saw Selena's dad. "Hey Justin." he said. "Hey, is Selena here?" I asked politely. Selena's mom came over to Selena's step-dad's side. "She'll be out soon." she said. She walked over to the hallway and went down it. Selena's dad walked over into the kitchen.

'So do I come in or stay out here?' I thought. I waited patiently in the doorway. No one came out. Then I saw her mom come out from the hallway, but she didn't notice me standing in the doorway. I looked at the roses. The shade of the roses would match her dress perfectly. I hoped she would like them.

I saw Selena turn the corner and look at me. She looked so gorgeous. She smiled at me and smiled back. Selena walked over to the doorway. "These are for you." I said while handing her the roses. "Awww thank you so much." she said while giving me a hug. "You two have fun." her mom said while we stopped hugging. Selena turned around.

"Bye mom love you." Selena said. Selena and I walked out of her house. We got in the car. The driver began driving us to the mall. "Oh wait my mom wanted me to send her a picture of us." I said. I pulled out my phone and turned the flip screen on. Selena moved in closer to me so we would both be on the screen.

We both smiled. I moved my phone back down and sent the picture to my mom. My phone went off.

Mom: Oh my baby has a little girlfriend!

Me: Mom she's not my girlfriend.

Mom: Yeah, sure

Me: I'm serious

Mom: I don't believe you

Me: Bye Mom

Mom: Fine I see how it is

Me: Love you. Bye.

Mom: Love you too. Have fun! But not to much fun ;)

Me: Okay :) I love you

I put my phone back in my pocket. The driver stopped and opened the door for us. I looked at the floor and saw a long red carpet leading to the front entrance of the mall. 'Wow. Taylor really did all of this for a party?' I thought.
