Frank stared into nothingness. He was just diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia and sent to a hospital for treatment. A dark void sat heavy on his heart. Things were not looking good, but what with his identity? He scoffed at that. He had nothing to show for his seventeen years except a band he was in for a few years.

Suddenly, something flickered at the foot of his bed, causing Frank to sit up abruptly, a groan of pain following. He cursed at his current predicament. Are you supposed to have a tube sticking out of your arm? I think not!

But the flicker?

In the most dramatic and abrupt way possible, a figure of a teenage boy appeared fully at the foot of Frank's bed.

"Hello?" Frank asked

The boy just stared back, his eyeliner adding an element of creepiness to the whole scene.

"Oh god! At first I thought you were cute, but then you just had to stare at me, just like the rest of them. Go away, will ya!" Frank threw an excess pillow right through the boy's face- or what would've been the boy's face had he not quickly slid towards Frank at the head of the bed.

"Ooh! You think I'm cute? do ya?" The boy swiftly jumped on the foot of the bed and made a "sexy" pose.

"Hey! Watch it- IV here!"

"Aww! Baby got a boo boo?" The boy came up next to Frank and picked up his arm.

"Yes -Hey! and it hurts, so if you don't mind putting it down..."

The boy flashed Frank a huge, toothy grin. "Only if you promise to give me your name!"

"I go by Tre, now if you'd put my arm down."

"Wha-Train?"

"Tre, as in uno dos."

Someone approached Frank's hospital room door.

"Billie here, Billie Joe. Gotta scoot Pretty Boy!" He winked and then Tre turned towards his door.

"Just a quick vitals check..." The nurse looked over the computer notes.

"And I'll be bringing in another blood transfusion in an hour." the nurse said before leaving.

Blood transfusion? By the way she was taking- it was almost as if-

This boy was actually sick.

"Hey Billie, I like you." Tre mumbled before drifting off.

Billie watched the sleeping boy in front of him. He was so peaceful. He was so... cute. Billie walked up next to him and stroked his hair. He planted a kiss on his forehead and waited for him to wake up again.

BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP!!! The infusion machine demanded his awakening. Tre groaned.

"The infusion's done, I see! That's good. Your parents are going to be here in the next hour and the doctors should be making their rounds shortly after." The nurse signed off of the computer and left Tre to himself.

"Good morning sleepy head!" Billie was sitting in a chair next to Tre.

"Billie! Were you there the whole time?"

"Yeah. I can go unnoticed pretty easily. My presence is fleeting."

Tre groaned again as he reached for the phone.

"Oh, no." Billie lightly pushed on Tre to signal for him to go back to lying down. He then handed him the room service menu.

"How about you ask for some pain meds? You don't seem too well."

"Billie, I don't do well with drugs..."

"How so?"

"I mean, my family all gets addicted easily and drugs affect us more..."

"Well, it's better than pain!"

Billie handed the nurse call/TV remote combo thing to Tre. After sufficient eye rolls, Tre pushed the button and asked for his nurse.

She gave him some OxyContin and then some Morphine, as Oxy didn't help much.

"I feel funny, Billie."

Billie giggled a bit "I know Tre. It's the drugs."

"Really?"

"Yes, Tre. Drugs do that."

"Oh."

Tre looked down at the menu and chose to order french toast sticks. Billie called down and ordered for him. Billie then started scribbling down something on a small pad that he carried.

"Billie?"

"Yes Tre?"

"You're really cute

Billie looked up "You're really cute too Tre."

"Billie?"

"Yes Tre?"

After a pause, Tre finally spoke. "Will you come keep me company?"

Billie set his notepad down on the table next to him. "I'm already keeping you company, aren't I?"

Tre looked away. Billie went back to writing madly.

"Billie!"

Billie jumped, but then regained composure. "What Tre?"

Tre bit his lip and noticeably looked down at the hospital bed and then back up at Billie. He then scooted over and gave a little kid's "I'm innocent, I promise!" look with wide eyes.

Billie raised an eyebrow and smirked before snuggling Tre. Their relationship was still rather platonic at this point, but both enjoyed it.

After a while of silence, Billie spoke up. "Tre, um" he bit his lip and paused. "-never mind. it's nothing."

"Wait! You can't just start to say something and then just say it's nothing." Tre pouted.

Billie chuckled "Well, I just did and there's nothing you can do about it." Billie booped Tre's nose and then smoothed down Tre's hair, planting a kiss on the top of his head.

Soon after, they both fell asleep. It was pretty early in the morning still.
