I opened my eyes to Liz standing in front of me with a black garment bag. She smiled when she saw me open my eyes.

“Time to get dressed,” she said, unzipping the bag. She pulled out a light yellow dress and said, “Ta-daa! Try it on!” I smiled sleepily and slipped it on.

It was made of a light Material, and fitted my body perfectly, flowing all the way down to my ankles, before ending in a short train. Liz adjusted my sleeves, such that they fell just a little below my wrists. She folded up one of them and pressed a hidden button.

Immediately, my dress seemed to have caught fire. Flames engulfed the bottom of my dress, slowly creeping up to the end of my sleeves. Liz smiled at my shocked expression as I turned around for a look at my train. She pressed the button again and the flames died out

. “Don’t want to use up your battery pack,” she said, adjusting my hair. For the first time since I was made up, I looked into the mirror. My hair was braided loosely and draped over my shoulder. There were streaks of red and light orange among the black, making my hair seem as though it were flaming.

My nails were painted black and had fires starting from the nail bed. I lifted up my skirt and saw my white stilettos, the only part of me that didn’t burn. As if on cue, Liz pressed a button on the heel of one of my shoes and it began to glow softly.

I gasped in amazement at my outfit and gave Liz a squeeze. “Thanks. I look amazing,” I said, tears forming at my eyes. She pulled away and looked me in the eye. “Uh uh, no crying,” she said, dabbing at my eyes with a tissue. “I put contacts in there.” I looked closely into the mirror and realized that my green eyes were now a dark brown.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. Rochelle stuck her head round the door and said, “Liz, we need her downstairs in ten.” Liz held up her fingers showing the okay sign. Rochelle closed the door and we could hear her heels tip tapping off into the distance.

Liz turned to me and said, “You’re coupling with Jacob for the ride into the town today. You two look so cute together.”  I blushed and looked down at my shoes.

There was another knock at the door and Avan and Jacob slipped in.

“Hey love,” Jacob said, hugging me. I kissed him and wrapped my arms round his neck. He had just slipped his tongue in my mouth when Avan went, “Aww… aren’t they adorable?” We immediately pulled apart, embarrassed.

Both of them grinned at us and Liz said, “That’s what we want to portray you two as. Two lovers from District Twelve.” There was a silence as Jacob and I stared each other down.

“To get you more sponsors,” Avan explained. We nodded our heads and turned to face each other again.

“You’ll need some practice,” Liz said, giving us the oh-so subtle hint. I smiled shyly at Jacob as he pressed his lips to mine again. I entwined my fingers in his hair as he rubbed his hands up and down my back. I slipped him my tongue and our tongues collided in a celestial dance. This kiss was more passionate than any other we’ve ever had before.

When we finally pulled apart, we turned to look at Avan and Liz who were both grinning. “That’s what we’re talking about,” they said, giving each other a high-five. I rolled my eyes and turned back to Jacob, who leaned in for another kiss.
