Nandini's POV

The next few days were busy as hell. We practically spent all our time in the office, working our asses off.

It has been around 10 days since Mr. Malhotra's shocking apology plan. After we left the store room, we started discussing about the project. And we were surprisingly very serious, though he managed to sneak a few kisses from me, leaving me all red and flushed.

When it was lunch time, Manik suggested he knows just the place for lunch and was sure I would've never been there. I raised my eyebrow at him then sighed dramatically and followed behind.

True to his words he drove to a secluded kind of area where there was a small but cozy café. It gave away the homely feeling making me like it instantly. We chose to sit at the corner booth and ordered our meals.

I don't think I have talked this much since like forever. We both talked about anything and everything. Completely Random. Often smiling goofily, teasing each other and we were even flirting with each other.

"Ok how 'bout this one, Damn Girl is your name Wifi ? Because I’m feeling a connection!"

"Oh my god! That was worse than the previous one.." I said laughing. "But you can't beat mine," I said. I don't know how it started but currently were having a contest on who's pick-up line is the worst. "I should call you Google, because you have everything I’m looking for."

He started laughing so hard at that the whole café turned to look at us. But we were way too consumed in our laughter to care.

"My turn ! On a scale of 1 to 10, you’re a 9. I’m the 1 you need."

I giggled finding this one rather cute than bad, "Okay Okay, you win! But you gotta admit that this one was totally sweet."

He winked, giving me a breathtaking smile, "I know. That's why I tried that on someone equally cute!"

I rolled my eyes, "Well, aren't you so charming." I spoke, my words dripping in sarcasm.

"Hey, what can I say, I was born charming."

"...and conceited." I muttered in a low voice, playfully but enough for him to hear.

"Ouch!" He feigned a hurt expression clutching his heart.

I shook my head, "You're such a drama queen!" I said before finishing the last bite of my burger.

"He was always one, weren't you Manik!?" A voice said from behind me causing me to snap my head in the direction.
Turning around, I saw a beautiful brunnete standing with a dazzling smile that could probably wrap any guy around her finger. Her height was around 5'7 but with heels made her look even taller. She was wearing a navy blue bodycon dress which was showing her perfectly curvy body, that was to die for. I was suddenly feeling very self-conscious with my face devoid of any make-up and in my office outfit.

"Shanaya, is that you??" Manik said standing up. He pulled her into a bear hug. "God, where were you? It was like you disappeared somewhere after high school."

I stood there awkwardly, suddenly feeling like a third wheel or something. Not knowing what to do I cleared my throat, gaining both of their attention.

"Oh sorry, Manik I didn't mean to interrupt your date.. I just saw you and got really excited. I'm really sorry." She directed the last line towards me. But she looked nowhere near apologetic, in fact she had a smug look on her face.

"That's okay Shanaya. You don't have to apologize. We aren't even on a date.. By the way, this is my friend, Nandini and Nandini this is Shanaya. Shanaya and I went to the same high school, and we were used to be the besties." He ranted out. I couldn't help but feel a little hurt as he called me a 'friend', when we both know we've feelings more than that for each other. But I pushed it at the back of my head, since I shouldn't even be expecting anything more. I mean, it's not like we are in a relationship.
