Chapter 14~Nan's

We had packed,said our goodbyes and got in the car by 12:15.It took about an hour to get to my nan's.My nan also owned a pub so this weekend wasn't going to be a break or a nice weekend away it was just going be working behind a bar just without my friends or Ella.

We got out of the car and knocked on the pub door.I stood there with my rucksack on my back and a small suitcase in my hand.I looked at Johnny,he rolled his eyes.

Suddenly the door opened and my nan burst out and hugged my dad and then my mum and Ollie.Then she went to Johnny and told him how much she'd missed him as she hadn't seen him since before he'd went to Italy.

Finally she came to me "Oh here's my boy the next captain of England my grandson ohhhh now you've been staying out of trouble I hope".

I looked at my parents."Yeah of course gran,I mean you know me an angel sent from above".I winked at my dad and he winked back."Oh come here"she said squeezing me tight."Alright you lot come inside".

We went inside and she brought upstairs. Nan's house had 3 bedrooms as she also lived above a pub.

"I hope you two don't mind sharing,I know when ye lived here we had 5 bedrooms but since ye left I added another bathroom and lounge" Nan said."Of course they don't do you boys?"my mom answered giving us the 'say yes or your dead' stare.

"No of course we don't"we replied in unison. She showed us to our room it had 2 sets of bunk beds and a single bed in between,other then that all it had was,a wooden desk and two wardrobes to hold our stuff."I made sure there were five beds incase all of my grandchildren came to stay"my nan said sorrowfully.

"Anyway,Mick and Linda you know where your room is,now I'm going shoot to bed.ye know where everything is,I mean you lived here since you were babies,night all"she said as she went into her bedroom."Night"my dad said after her.

My mom took Ollie into their room as he'd been asleep for the whole journey and she knew he'd wake during the night."You ok then in here"My dad asked us."Yeah" Johnny replied.I faked smiled.

"Look guys I know you have better things to be doing but it's for Whit and Lee to have some time together and ye can spend quality time with your grandmother and it's only for Saturday and Sunday.we will be back on Monday night so just crack on and serve the punters with a smile"my dad said reassuringly.

"You sweet?"he asked."Yeah" we replied."Good because this will be good for your mother so goodnight"."Night" Johnny and I answered.He closed the door."Prepare yourself"Johnny said to me "its going to be a long weekend".

I didn't sleep a lot that night,it didn't feel right being back here.I had lived here since I was born up until I was 11 and then we moved to Albert Square.

When we lived here I had my own room when Lee was away in the army but when he came back I was forced to sleep on the floor of Johnny's room or on the couch.

When I lived here I had friends but my grades started to go downhill and when I was told we were moving my whole world just came crashing down but when I got to Albert Square I was surprised I made friends,met Ella and my life is so much better and my grades are back up so other then Bobby being an absolute dope,Nancy being away and getting the money.I have no problems.

Anyway when I did manage to get to sleep Ollie started to roar and shout,I checked the time and it was five in the morning.I knew I wouldn't be able to get back to sleep so I grabbed my phone and went on Snapchat.

I sent loads of snaps to Cian,Griffin and Ella and I put on my story 'Anyone up' but no one I actually wanted to talk replied so I just put my headphones in and went on YouTube.

I was watching a Sidemen GTA video and Ethan was about to win but then Vik came out of no where and Simon won and I just burst out laughing. Johnny, who was sleeping underneath me then spoke "You can't sleep either then".

I paused the video and answered "No,Ollie and memories are keeping me awake"."Same"he told me.

"I was thinking,remember that time we were in Mallorca on holiday and mom and dad did the lift from dirty dancing and then dad dropped her".We both burst into laughter and started to reminisce.

The next thing the door open my dad came in and whispered "I knew you two were up I could here ya from our room".

"Sorry"Johnny said "we were just reminiscing about old times on holidays mostly". "Oh, without me.Come on let's hear some then".He said as he sat on the single bed.

We filled him in and talked for awhile and then he checked the time"7:30 already,I better get back to your mum before she notices I'm gone"my dad said leaving and closing the door behind him.

Johnny and I went back on our phones.Before I knew it my mum came in and said quietly "Breakfast will be ready in 20"I checked the time it was nine".I got up.

I was in my boxers and nan hated that so I put pants and socks on but no top because I'm a boy and it's my thing.I walked into the kitchen.
