Chapter 6~The Truth

James' POV
I followed Lee into the barrel room."What is wrong with you"I said."Go away James"Lee said "No Lee all day you have been on edge and I wanna know why".

"I'm in debt alright"Lee said "I can barely afford this wedding and now Whit is talking about a place of our own.Its too much James"Lee was on the verge of crying.

"Alright listen to me Lee how much money do you owe"I asked."Around 700 quid should get me sorted"."

"Ok so this is what's gonna happen Lee,  tomorrow you going to marry Whitney and if your in doubt about saying 'I do' listen to me now,Whitney is the most beautiful, amazing, kind-hearted,generous woman I have ever met and after everything she has been through all she wants is for you to hold her hand on the altar and tell her how much you love her and want her to become your wife.So you should be honoured that she still wants you because she has put up with you through everything and still she would do anything for you,she loves you Lee"I finished.

"What about the money?" Lee asked"Forget about the money I'll sort it".

"How?,your only 13"."I will alright Lee I just will,If you promise me to marry Whitney and love her and care for her until the day you die"I said

"because if you don't Lee, I'll never forgive you".

"I promise" Lee said"Now come here"he said.I went over and we hugged until my dad came in.

"Everything alright in here,no one dead?"Dad said jokingly."Everything is great dad"Lee said beaming with happiness

"In fact it couldn't be better and if you don't mind I'm going to tell Whitney how much I'm looking forward to tomorrow and how much I love her before she goes to Lauren's"Lee left the room and went upstairs.

"Whatever you just said,thank you James"dad said."does this mean you will reduce my punishment".I questioned.

"Alright,you get a half an hour break tonight and you only are grounded for 5 days deal?".I stared at him,I knew that was the best I was going to get after stealing his toast"Deal"I said,shaking his hands.

"Now come on you,back to work"he said approaching the door."2 minutes I'm just changing the barrel"I said."No problem,boy"he left.All I could think about was how I was going to get Lee 700 quid.

James' POV
I had been the bar all night,It had calmed down a bit as most punters come in at 7;00.It was half an hour til I was supposed to meet Ella.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and tapped on to Snapchat,I scrolled down to Ella and said
'Grounded cuz i was half an hour late for my shift so can't make it tonight sorry babe I promise I'll make it up to you xxx'

'It's fine maybe next time eh' she texted back

'Oh no 'it's fine',no kisses,she is pissed at me,like super pissed'I thought.I ran my fingers through my hair and started shaking my leg.I tend to do this when I get nervous.

"What's wrong boy"My dad said noticing I was doing both of my nervous actions."Yeah,just thinking about Christmas exams y'know after next week,between football scouting and studying I'm going to be under so much pressure"I lied.

"Oh,Ok boy"my dad said suspiciously.Just at the moment Stacey walked in carrying 3 hangers,2 of them holding up something cover in a white silk cloth and the third one was a third of the size of the other 2.

"Linda texted to say come round now with the suits now instead of later"Stacey said."No problem,I will go and fetch her now"My dad replied as he left to get my mother.

Stacey sat on a bar stool resting the suits on another one next to her."It's chilly out there ain't it,James"Stacey said.I was too caught up in thinking about Lee's money,I just stared into thin air.

"Are you alright,James"Stacey asked."Wha-ohh yeah sorry just thinking about something"I replied."Is it something important"she asked "Nothing I can't solve "I said with a fake smile.

"Anyway,can I get you anything"."No thanks"Stacey said"I just had a glass of wine at home with Belinda".

Next thing both of my parents walked over to me behind the bar."Oh hi Stace thanks again for this"Mom said."No problem,it gives me a break from the kids,Ella was delighted earlier but just before I left she was in a proper so I'll have that to look forward to".

"Yeah,well this guy is grounded for stealing my toast and giving cheek" Stacey laughed,"that's teenagers for you".

"Anyway shall we go upstairs and try on the suits"Mum said after they'd all had a good laugh over me being punished."Yeah sure" Stacey said picking up the suits.
