Lexi’s pov.
It was Wednesday already, Monday and Tuesday went by really fast. We went to class, did our work and then went back to our dorms to talk and eat for the rest of the night then start the cycle again.
We were in English now, this is the first time I had seen Mr. Walker since before I went to see my parents, I wanted to tell him how it went but I didn’t know if that would in inappropriate.
“Okay, you guys can all leave now. Have a nice break and I’ll see you all tomorrow.” I slipped my pencil case and book back into my bag and got out of my chair, I was about to head to the door when Mr. Walker spoke, “Alexis, could you stay behind for a minute, I need to talk to you.” I nodded my head, smiling at Alex I walked back over to Mr. Walker’s desk.
“What did you want to talk to me about sir?” people were still walking out the class, slower than normal, probably waiting to hear Mr. Walker shout at me.
“Have a seat,” I grabbed a chair and put it down beside his desk, I sat there watching him. He was waiting for everyone else to leave the class, it took a lot longer than it should, what he had to talk to me about must be important.
“I just wanted to ask how it went this weekend; I know how worried you were. Did it go okay?” this man continues to amaze me.
“Uh… Yeah it went okay, they told me why they did what they did and I forgave them. For that anyway, there is something I will never forgive them for.”
He studied my face, waiting for me to continue my story. I wasn’t sure if I should, I have already told Alex but he was right. He did know I was worried about it, what harm can telling him do?
So I did, for the second time in one week, I told someone about what happened the previous weekend. I left out all the witch and werewolf details; I didn’t think I should mention them. I told him about the arranged marriage though. He sat there the whole time just listening to what I had to say, he didn’t interrupt me once.
“Alexis, I need to tell you something, I don’t think you are going to like what I have to say but your father told me I could tell you now.”
“Wait, you know my dad? How?” How come he never mentioned it before?
“Well when you first came to this school, your father phoned me and asked me to watch over you. So I did, I moved to this school so I could be close enough to you to watch you but not so close that you think I am stalking you. A teacher was the perfect thing, I could see you day in day out and I wouldn’t have to try and be-friend you just to see how you were.”
“So you what? Watched me for five years, how could that help me in any way?” Mr. Walker was really starting to confuse me right now.
“I am like you Alexis, I am different too.” He knows…
“How… What do you mean?” I had to make sure we were talking about the same thing, I couldn’t just talk about being a witch and find out he meant something completely different.
“I know you are a witch, I have always known. Your parents sent me here to watch over you, act like a body guard I guess, I was supposed to help you if you ever got into any trouble.”
“So this whole time you have been acting to like me; really it was just your job? Thanks Mr. Walker, if that is even your real name.” I didn’t even want to wait to see what he had to say to me, I just got out of my chair and out of the room.
“Stupid teachers, stupid parents, stupid Jarred.” I muttered under my breath, this week really couldn’t get any worse.
The rest of the week was boring and normal, I ignored Mr. Walker for the rest of the week, and I didn’t feel like talking to him. I still went to his class but I left before he could ask me to stay and I didn’t talk to him in the hallways anymore either.
