Gladion was struck by surprise, this couldn't be true. Had he really gotten close to the target? Could he bring himself to steal Hau's pokemon, when Hau has been nothing but kind to him? And now, he was already roped into another outing with Hau, with Moon tagging along. Maybe that was his chance.. This wouldn't be easy.

"The reason I didn't tell you before is.. Well almost everyone sees me as the grandson of the great kahuna Hala! I'm supposed to take after him, but.. I'm weak compared to him. I guess I didn't want you to see me as that either. Sorry. ( ̄▽ ̄"")" The next message read.

Did Hau really feel that way..? That makes sense.. Of course you would be stressed if you were next in line to be a Kahuna! He couldn't even imagine stealing Hau's raichu. Why did he have to become friends with the malasada loving boy?! He groaned, typing a quick response.

"It's fine. I understand. See you at 6?" He wanted to say so much more, but that was all he could muster. He wanted to know more about Hau.. He wanted to be a part of his life. He had a choice. Satisfy Team Skull, or become actual friends with this Hau.

"See you then! And thanks for. inviting me tonight! I had fun." Hau's responses certainly weren't making it any easier. If he didn't satisfy Plumeria's request, would she be angry? Send grunts after him? There were so many questions in his head.

He reached the motel, and plopped down in his bed. He groaned into the pillow, frustrated with the situation. He reached for his pokeball before releasing Type: Null. The pokemon seemed interested in it's surroundings, and Gladion began to lightly pet it's back. He put his forehead to Null's, closing his eyes. "I'm in.. a really difficult situation. Please, give me strength. I don't know what to do." He mumbled.

Silence. Of course, the pokemon couldn't answer him, but a part of him thought something would happen. And then, something did. Type: Null began to glow; changing form. It took a moment for him to realize that his pokemon was evolving! He hadn't even gotten into a battle.. How was this happening? When the glowing ended, the mask had dropped to the floor with a clang. He rushed to his bag and pulled out his old pokedex his mother had gotten him for his 9th birthday, along with some notes about Type: Null he had taken from the secret labs. He read the notes but.. Nothing mentioned anything about evolution. He scanned the new pokemon, which was curiously staring at him, with the pokedex. It seemed to work, only there was no name at the top. It simply read "Missing No." A big pop up appeared on the screen. "You've discovered a new pokemon! What will you name it?" Gladion thought, before a name popped in his head. It just felt right. "Silvally." He input. The pokedex gave Silvally one final scan, before coming up with a description for it.

"Silvally, the synthetic pokemon. It's trust in its partner is what awakens it. It has the capability of changing it's type, a trait well used in battle." That explained it.. Silvally trusted Gladion enough to break free of it's mask..

Gladion pet the pokemon's neck, slowly moving his hand up to the pokemon's now exposed head. Silvally was now excited, and nuzzled Gladion's face, making him laugh. "So.. our friendship made you evolve? Is that.. a sign? That I should choose friendship?" Silvally cocked it's head, before giving Gladion a lick on the cheek.

Gladion thought to himself for a moment, before climbing back in bed, letting Silvally join him. It curled up next to him, and he fell into a peaceful sleep with the warm pokemon.
