Sunday mornings are different in every household; some people spend the morning at church, some people work and some people are like me, sleeping the day away. Unfortunately, Lucas has other ideas.

The door to my bedroom opens which serves to wake me up thanks to my motherly hearing that I obtained when Avery learned how to escape from her crib. I hear footsteps creeping across the floor and within seconds the blankets are being lifted off my bed and Lucas is climbing into bed beside me.

"Morning" I mumble, wiggling my rear-end against his front. He chuckles, his breath fanning out against my neck as his hands wrap around my waist.

"Good morning baby" he replies, trailing his lips down my neck. I let my eyes close again, relaxing into his embrace. I could certainly get used to this but then again-.

"You know, it's kinda pointless to have separate rooms if we're gonna keep this up."

"Yes Riles 'cause waking up next to you every morning would be awful" he teases and I chuckle. He was right, being together like this again was incredible; I couldn't remember a time where I was this happy.

"We're gonna have to put some labels on things if we're going to discuss sharing a bed" I point out, opening my eyes and looking at him over my shoulder.

"Then let's talk" he says seriously, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. I open my mouth to respond but it's cut off by the sound of the doorbell ringing and I groan in frustration.

"Don't people know it's Sunday?" I complain.

Lucas laughs, throwing back the blankets and climbing out of bed to go and answer the door. I follow after him, leaning against the banister as he pulls open the door.

On the other side is a petite blonde woman wearing a tight blazer and a pair of dress pants, holding a manilla envelope in her arms. "Is there a Lucas Friar at this residence?" she asks sternly.

Lucas stands up straighter and nods his head. "I'm Lucas Friar. Is there something I can do for you?"

An apologetic smile tugs at the woman's lips as she hands out the envelope for Lucas to take. "You've been served" she says simply before turning on her heels to leave and my eyes widen in shock.

Divorce papers.

Lucas closes the door slowly and stares down at the envelope for along moment. "Luke" I speak softly, stepping towards him.

"Do you have a pen?" he asks, looking up at me and brushing past as he makes his way towards the kitchen. I blink a couple times, overcoming my shock before following him into the room where he's opening and closing drawers on the hunt for a pen.

"Luke-."

"I need a pen" he interrupts, opening another drawer. He finally stumbles upon a ballpoint pen and I watch as he opens the envelope and pulls the papers out.

"Babe hold on" I stop him, grabbing his hand before he can put his pen on the dotted line. "I think you're in shock. Maybe my mom should look these over-."

He looks away from the papers and drops his gaze to my lips before leaning in and giving me a soft kiss.

"Riley, I want this over. If she hadn't filed I would've" he says adamantly. "I lost fourteen years of the life I was supposed to have. A life with you and our daughter. Missy can have whatever the hell she wants, she just can't have me" he finishes, picking up the pen and signing on the dotted line. "I'll hand them off to the lawyer tomorrow morning."

I bite my bottom lip, looking at him intently. "So you're really okay with ending things with her?"

"Riley we've been over for a long time, this just makes it official. I am more than okay with closing that chapter of my life and labeled or not, I'm ready to start this chapter, our chapter."
