Faded (Ace x Reader)

Hi, everyone! So to kick off the this book, I thought I'd do an Ace x Reader one shot. Ace is one of my favorite characters within the One Piece universe. I hope you enjoy!

"Hey, ________, are you okay?" Ace asked. You looked up to your boyfriend's worried expression.

"Yeah, I'm fine," you answered. To prove your point, you hoped onto the railing and began walking on it like a tightrope. "See? "

He laughed as you continued to walk on the narrow walkway. You smiled and started to dance to entertain him more. He smiled as he watched you twirl and spin around on the railing. Your light blue dress moving with you and your ______ hair following your head. "I've always enjoyed watching you dance," he said, causing you to stop and look at him with pure sadness across your face. "You always looked so happy when you did." His dark eyes began to tear up as he looked at you.

"I was happy because I danced for you, Ace," you said, your voice soft and quiet. Your _______ eyes began to fill up with tears as you recall the first time you met. "Hey, do you remember the first time we met?"

Ace looked at you and nodded, trying to keep his tears from falling. "Yeah, I do. You were working at a bar as a waitress. I remember the sad look in your eyes when I first saw you. I also remember following you to try and figure out what caused that look." He laughed and scratched behind his head.

"I remember that!" You exclaim. "I didn't know what "Fire Fist" Ace wanted with me. I was so scared you were going to do something to me." You smiled and he smiled back. "Do you remember the promise you made me when I finally told you?"

Ace's expression changed to sadness and regret. "I won't let you fade, _______." You smiled and nodded. You turned toward the sunset behind you and smiled.

"Look, isn't the sunset beautiful, Ace?" you asked. Ace walked up to the railing and watched the sun sink below the sea, dragging the reds and oranges with it.

"It is, _________," Ace answered, as he turned towards you. His eyes grew wide as your figure began disappear with the sun. "_______?"

You smiled as tears began to fall down your pale cheeks. "I guess my time's up." You turned toward your boyfriend, your figure gradually becoming more and more transparent.

He grabbed your hand and pulled you down into a loving embrace. You wrapped your arms around him as silently sobbed into your _______ hair. "Please don't leave, _______. I don't want you to go," he whispered. He tightened his grip around you.

You smiled and pushed him away from you little. You looked at him and smiled, wiping tears away from his face. "What are you saying, Ace? I'm always with you." Your voice was all choked up as you tried to put a brave front. You looked at him and smiled. "I love you, Ace."

Ace looked at you and smiled. "I love you, too, ______." More tears fell down your face as you disappeared into the night sky, leaving him alone. He looked down and began to silently sob to himself. "I won't you fade, ______."
