"Find you?" You scrunch your eyebrows together, not exactly sure what Taehyung meant by when he said he would be found.
"Ah, ah, did I say? Ah, nothing. It nothing," he scratched the back of his head nervously, not meeting your eyes.
"Taehyung," you give him an expectant look, gesturing for him to explain himself.
"It nothing," he started again, pausing before adding, "It joke."
"You were joking?" You raise an eyebrow. Your voice was skeptical; you knew he wanted to be an actor but there was no way he could perfect the look he had on his face by false means.
He just seemed to be so deep in thought and lost in his head that he couldn't have been faking it.
"Yes," he said once more, "joke. Ha. Ha. Ha."
"Okay, fine, if you don't want to tell me right now, that's okay," you start, "but you have to take care of yourself okay? Sometimes New Yorkers aren't the friendliest of people and so you have to be careful and do what's right."
"Mmm," Taehyung murmured in agreement, seeming to get lost in his thoughts again.
Rolling your eyes, you begin to walk to his kitchen.
"Is there anything you'd like? I'm no cook but I can make do with what we've got here in store. You haven't had breakfast yet, right?" You open the cabinet door on top. It was empty. You open the one next to it; it was also empty.
You spend a couple of minutes going through cabinets and drawers only to come to the realization that his kitchen was completely empty, give or take a few selected items.
You close your eyes for a second, take a deep breath, and open your eyes.
"Taehyung Kim!" You storm out of the kitchen and into the living room.
"Ah, ya?!" He stood up, gulping nervously.
"Why is your kitchen empty? Like ALL of it?!" Your hands make furious gestures in your moment of rage, your cheeks flushing a deep red.
"Why mad?" Taehyung's head tilted sideways and he couldn't understand why you were so angry.
"Because what the hell have you been living off of? AIR?!" You take deep breaths, trying to maintain what little composure you had left.
"You need to take care of yourself. I'm not always going to be here to babysit you and come down at your place when you don't know who to contact when your toilet's jacked up! Or when you're scared of the man outside your door who just wanted to ask if you were interested in insurance! Or the time a 'really mean dog', as you put it, was outside and-"
"Ja. You stop now. I.. I know now." His voice was cold as it sliced through the slipperiness of your own.
"But why so angry? I.. too much?" He took a deep breath of his own and pinched the space between his eyebrows.
"I no know all. Not here. In Mew Work. I'm sorry. I no know," Taehyung muttered, staring down at his shoes.
You sigh as your shoulders slump, and you walk forward to pull him into a tight hug.
"Yeah, I know. I know it's new to you and all, and I'm sorry for getting so angry, but the world is a scary place, Tae. If you don't learn how to be able to work by yourself now, it's going to cause you a lot of trouble. It's just, you're a friend of mine, right? Well, I don't like to see my friends get hurt. So I don't want you to get hurt. So please take careful," you finish.
Once you're done talking, Taehyung relaxes in your arms and puts his head to rest on your shoulder. Your head was buried in the crook of his neck and shoulder with your arms wrapped around his waist. His own arms were wrapped around your waist.
