A/N: This chapter was written by my co-owner: chrystalvalquez (polaroidxirwin on Tumblr). She is the one helping me write this story because let's face it! If it wasn't for her helping me, this story probably wouldn't be happening right now! This chapter will be a little be shorter than the last one but that's alright! It's only the beginning of the story so there isn't a whole lot of action yet!

Chapter 1: Exploring My New Home

My eyes stayed on the animal, watching it’s every move until it disappeared into the woods. I waited a while, waited for a sign of him. I waited to see if he would speak to me like he did in my dream, but it never came.
I shut my window, and hurried down the stairs to find my dad speaking on the phone. He smiled over at me, and held up a finger signaling me to stay in my place until he finished speaking.

“Okay, thank you very much. Yes. Yes that is correct. Okay thank you. See you soon.” He spoke, and hung up the phone. “Just ordering some pizza for us.” He said, before resting against the wall. I nodded, and shuffled my feet awkwardly. So far, I am not so in love with this house, and I know it’ll take me some time to get used to.

“Dad, can I go explore the backyard? You know, so I can learn my surroundings.” My dad agreed, but made sure I had my phone, and good shoes in case I have to run to safety. As I ran out the door he yelled to me to be home by nightfall, which might be in a few hours.

I began my walk to the backyard, taking my time and eyeing my surroundings. The woods were truly a beautiful sight. The trees were tall enough to block out some of the sun, but not too much of it. The air was much cooler in here, giving me a sense of relaxation. As I walked, I made sure to leave a trail so I could find my way back home. These woods seemed big, and the last thing I want is to get lost in them.

As I neared the center of the woods, I saw a small house sitting up on a tree. A treehouse is the correct term. I looked up at the house, and climbed up the tree trunk to it. The house inside was fairly large, whoever made this must’ve spent months, maybe years, on this house. A small paper was on the floor in the middle, with small words scribbled on it. The handwriting was horrible, but a little understandable.

Hello, person. You have found my creation. Please, I beg of you, take care of this treehouse. It is my prized possession, and now that I have passed, I want someone to watch over it. It took many months to make this, and in between my sickness and family, this was truly the only escape I had.

Thank you.

It wasn’t signed, just a note.

My phone vibrated in my pocket, and I checked it, seeing a text from my dad saying the pizza arrived. I set the note down on the floor again, walked out the small house, climbed down the trunk, and made my way back home. I followed the small I trial I made myself, and was out the woods almost instantly. The sky was darker than before, but it held a tint of pink and orange with some clouds coating it. I looked up at the beautiful sky, then back at the woods. It was so still, so quiet, almost inviting. It’s as if it speaks, coaxing you to walk inside it and make your own adventure. And, frankly, that’s what I plan on doing.

I reached the back door, and eyed the woods one last time. My hopes in seeing my wolf were gone, but that didn’t stop me in feeling that the dream meant something.

“Please, tell me what you want. What did you have to tell me?” I spoke, but I knew nobody was listening. I was just silently praying my wolf heard, and that he would return and tell me.
