A/N: Sorry it's a day late! I know but since the last chapter didn't get posted until Thursday, I didn't really start on it until Friday! But it's here now! Enjoy! :)
Chapter 12:Queen Of The Damn
It felt like forever before I finally heard a different noise besides the ticking of the grandfather clock in the living room, but I knew it wasn't Calum and his pack. The noise wasn't the door bursting open or pounding footsteps coming up the stairs. Oh no. It was the sound of the wicked witch of the west herself and she was taunting me. I knew she was. She knew where I was hiding, she could smell my scent and hear my breathing but I still tried to push myself further into the closet.
"Oh Amanda! Come out, come out wherever you are!" JJ's sickeningly sweet voice called out to me as she came closer to my room. Just as I thought she was going to open my bedroom door, though, I could hear the front door bang open and JJ along with her gang leave the upstairs area to go check it out.
Once I was sure that no one was upstairs, I slowly crept out of the closet and took a look around my room to make sure no one was in there. I was so sure that no one was in my room until I felt a hand cover my mouth causing me to squeal out of surprise.
"Shh. It's just me," Calum whispered into my ear. I immediately relaxed when I knew it was him and removed his hand from my mouth.
"You really need to stop doing that!" I whispered back, remembering the first time he came into my room and snuck up on me.
"Sorry, but I'm not worried about me sneaking up on you. Right now, I'm worried about getting you out of here and back to my place where I know it's safe."
"Why do I need to go back with you? I'm perfectly fine here!"
"Because when you're with me, JJ can't touch you! She knows that when I'm around, I'll do anything to protect you but if I'm not then she can do whatever the hell she wants until I get there to protect you."
"I don't need protection Calum! I'm fine!"
"If you were fine then your house wouldn't have been broken into now would it? You wouldn't have been scared and called me for help if you were fine! Just face it! You need me as much as I need you!"
I didn't care whether or not that the other werewolves could hear us arguing from downstairs, I was livid when Calum said that. I just wanted to smack the shit out of him, but for what? I had no clue. Maybe it was the fact that he was telling the truth. I did need him. But that didn't mean that I was about to admit it so I did what I wanted to do when he said that: I smacked him.
"How dare you! You think that just because you come strolling into my life, claiming that I'm your mate, that you can just tell me that I need you? Well, news flash Calum: my life was a lot more simpler before you showed up! I got along great with my dad, my boyfriend didn't try to tell me what to do, and, oh yeah, there weren't any werewolves!" I yelled, letting out all of my frustrations on him before shoving past him and running out of the house, not caring if JJ and her pack came after me. For right now, I just wanted to be alone.
********
It's been about an hour since my fight with Calum and to say that I regret it was an understatement. I felt terrible for what happened, especially since he was trying to help me. I was never really the type of girl that needed to be protected by anyone else but her dad so when Calum came along, trying to do it, it scared the hell out of me. I didn't mean to blow up on him like I did, but since I did, I've did nothing but regret it since then.
"I'm so stupid!" I mumbled to myself, sitting down on a log in the woods behind my backyard. I know it's not safe to be in the woods by myself at one o' clock in the morning, but at the time, I was hoping Calum would come after me but I guess I was wrong. It's been an hour since the fight and still no Calum.
"You know, it's not healthy to talk to yourself," said the voice that I did not want to hear.
"What do you want JJ?" I growled, turning to where her voice came from. I could just make out her tiny figure hiding behind the tree.
"Well, since you asked so nicely, I want you and since Calum isn't here to protect you, I'm going to have a little fun," she said, smirking. It was then that I noticed the rest of her gang was surrounding me, all of them having similar smirks on their faces.
