CHAPTER -2

Karen's POV

Next day I woke up to the sound of alarm clock going off...Groggily I open my eyes only to be hit by bright sunlight that was coming right through my window making me realise that my day has already begun. I got up from my bed and made my way to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, took a shower. I wrapped a bathrobe around me as I dried my hair. I check my wardrobe in order to wear something lovely for my first day!!

Really?

Just kidding I don't want people to notice me. I am not  ready to mend with people. When I was younger mom always told me to make friends and talk to the children of my age.

Whenever I tried to speak to them they would make fun of me or run away from me. From that day I decided I don't wanna make any friends. I am happy on my own. I have my mother and a big brother with me. Speaking of my mother, she is a cardiologist in Virginia Mason Hospital.

After my father and my mother got separated we moved to Seattle when I was 15 and my brother Eric was 16.
Speaking of Eric he is one year older than me and gladly we are going to be in same college.

My brother is a total opposite of  me. He is outgoing, kind of a person who got a lot of friends.

I sighed finally coming back to the present. I decided to wear black jeans and red T-shirt, took out my shoes. I tied my hair in a ponytail and wear my specs.

To say I was excited was an understatement.

"Karen come down for breakfast honey"- my mom called.

  "Coming!" I replied.

I walked through the stairs into the kitchen only to be met by my brother on the way.  "Watch your way sis"- Eric said.

"Go for an eye checkup."

"Sit down both of you"- mom said. 

"What did you make for breakfast?"- I asked.

"Your favourite pancakes honey. Well finish it fast so that you both won't be late for the college especially you Karen. I gotta run for work, Eric take care of your younger sister don't fight too much"- my mother said.

"I love you mom". I hugged my mom wishing her good luck for the work.

"Bye sweetie", my mom whispered.
"Behave well Eric, no more complaints" my mom said while hugging him.

"Yes mother, I will take care of her" he replied.

After mother went for her job we ate our pancakes in silence . Eric got up from the chair and went towards his room to get ready. I took his dish and mine and I placed it in the washbasin. I ran upto my room to get my bag so that we won't be late. As soon as I came back Eric was standing near the entrance.
He looked at me and said "let's go sis".
Finally my new day has started ...
