Karen's pov
As our lecture ended my classmate Lilly talked about her likes and dislikes and as usual I listened patiently. I don't feel like disclosing myself too much.
People often say that you should let go of your past and move on. But in reality it kills you to know the bitter truth that you can't ... No matter how hard you try ....
That one person whom you thought to be the one ... Who means so much too you that you dreamed of having a future but in the end its all broken by some mere words ....
"Karen? . Earth to Karen. Are you alright " she shakes me enough
'' Yes! Yes! Lilly, I am fine "
"So, you didn't listen to what that guy told us" she asked playfully .
"Yeah? I mean what"?
"Our second lecture is free silly , as our professor is busy in some work , everyone has left... Let's go k" she laughed at my expression
"Oh! I see "
"Come, let's go to the canteen."
"No, Lilly, i don't feel like it. I just wanna be in the library, I'll see you around."
"Ok! No problem. Bye See ya!!"
This girl is surely something else. I sighed and started walking towards the corridor in search of a library.
People were talking, laughing, enjoying their freshman year. I climbed up the stairs and spotted my brother with his football team. They were standing in front of library.
Then I saw him, laughing, with a twinkle on his eyes. He seems so carefree.
Suddenly his eyes locked to mine and I stood paralysed by the depth they hold.
So many emotions which I couldn't place correctly.
My brother saw him looking at me and with a blank face and pissed expression he walked towards me.
I came back to my senses and I realised they were all walking towards me. I stood rooted to my spot.
One by one they went passed me through the stairs. My brother came towards me and said
"Hey are you lost?" He sighed.
"No, I was just going to the library." I said.
"Ok! be careful." And just like that he went away.
As I walked towards the library, I saw him entering it already.
Gosh! No, I don't want that but I gotta make my notes for the exams.
Damn, ok breathe just ignore him with this thought I entered the library.
Little did I know my day would be getting better.
