The Casino

The US leg of the tour started in two days in Vegas. Nora was beyond excited to see the country, then the world. She was so happy to have the privilege to ride around with the guys and watch them perform. She would have plenty of inspiration and time to get some writing of her own done as well. As much as she loved working with the guys she had her own music to think about.

Matt and Nora got the master bedroom of the bus so they could be together and Nora would have plenty of room to do the weird things she likes to do. Everyone would take turns driving. Zacky drove first, it was about a four hour drive to their hotel so it wasn't bad. They decided to get a room and hang out on the strip before the show so the guys' wives were riding with. Nora hated to be antisocial but she was in a strange mood so she hung out in the room most of the trip, writing and thinking. Matt sat in the main area playing Xbox and drinking beer with the guys. The girls were sitting together, talking about their lives. It was actually quite nice.

Before too long they were pulling up to their hotel, the famous Caesar's Palace. Nora was beyond ready for some luxury and gambling. Matt busted in the bedroom and tackled Nora on the bed. She laughed.

"Get your fat ass off of me!" She kicked at him and poked him in the ribs.

"Shut up and get your shit together, I got us a suite on the top floor." Matt said playfully.

Nora was even more excited now, the nicest place she'd ever stayed was a resort in Gatlinburg with her family. It didn't have shit on this place.

Soon they had made their way to their rooms. They planned to meet in the lobby in a couple hours to do some gambling and drinking.

When Nora opened the door to the suite, her eyes grew wide.

"No fucking way." She said to no one in particular.

The living room was insane, it had a huge television and a full size bar. The floors were made of marble. She walked over to the first door she saw which was the bathroom. Once again there were marble floors and a giant jacuzzi tub. It looked like a luxury spa. She made her way to the bedroom and it was even more impressive. She'd never seen a bed that big before.

Matt crept up behind her and said, "So, I take it I did good?"

"This is the craziest thing I've ever seen." Nora said laughing.

"Get used to it Tennessee, this is your life now." Matt said.

Nora rolled her eyes and turned around to kiss him.

After a couple hours of soaking in the tub and getting ready, they walked down to the lobby bar for a drink. Nora was feeling elegant so she got a gin martini. Whatever, it was fancy to her. Matt stuck with beer. Soon everyone else started to trickle into the bar.

"So, what are we doing first?" Zack's wife asked.

"Let's go to the casino I'm feeling lucky." Brian said with a wink.

"Fuck it let's go." Matt said as he stood up and grabbed Nora's hand.

"You any good at cards?" He asked her.

Nora stifled a laugh. "Does Rummy count?"

"Oh my god. Don't worry you'll get the hang of it." Matt said as he put his arm around her.

With that they headed to the casino.

After a few hours of drinking and gambling in a smoky casino Nora was ready for a change of pace. She actually did fairly well at blackjack but roulette didn't treat her as well. She was getting hungry so she went to find Matt.

"Hey where you going?" Zack asked her.

"I'm fuckin' starving I'm going to find Matt so we can go eat." Nora replied as she walked away.

She made a lap around the outside of the casino, she didn't see Matt at any of the bars and she didn't feel like walking to all the tables so she called him.

No answer.

He usually picked up her phone calls right away. She wasn't too worried, it was loud in here and he'd had a few, probably too many, drinks so who knows if he even still had his phone. She went toward the bathroom down a fairly empty hallway and she heard a familiar voice. Then she heard an exaggerated laugh.

"Seriously I don't want to do this with you. I shouldn't have even talked to you." Said the male voice.

"Matt, you came up to me, remember?" Said the woman coyly.

"I know but I shouldn't have, I changed my mind."

"I knew you'd never get over me. You move in this little girl and try to push the past away but it'll never work. You'll always be thinking of me."

Her voice was venomous.

"That's bullshit and you know it. She's a thousand times better than you'll ever be."

His voice was suddenly weak.

Then silence.

Nora's face was flushed, her ears were hot. Was she crazy? That was definitely Matt. Where the fuck was he? Who was he talking to?

Somebody was about to get hurt.
