Hailey's POV:
I turned off our vacuum cleaner and looked around the living room. Two and half hours, that was how long it took, clean the house. I felt tired. I just laid down on the couch and before I could even notice I had fell asleep.
After about an hour, a hard punch woke me up. I jumped up and looked around. It was Benjamin. "Oh hey to you too" I mumbled but his angry face didn't leave from his face. "Did you remember what you should have done?" he asked.
I had no idea what he was talking about. I raised my shoulders and looked him asking. "You should have picked me up, stupid!" he yelled and kicked me on leg before he stormed to his room and slammed door close. My mouth opened but I couldn't get anything out.
Oh yeah... shit, I thought and pressed my hands against my face. I'm such a great big sister. I went knock his door but got loud 'go away!' back. "I'm sorry. I fell asleep. I didn't do that on purpose. C'mon, Benjamin" I banged the door but nothing happened.
I sighed and decided give up. I sat down on the table and looked the clock from my phone. It was almost 7pm already and mom hadn't came home yet. I felt hungry but I was too tired to make anything.
But in the other hand, it would have been wrong to ask her make food right away when she comes back home, so I decided just grab my phone and call the nearest restaurant, and order some food.
After 10 minutes, a man knocked on our door and brought our food. I paid for him and thanked before he left with his bike. Just after that a car stopped in front of our house and mom stepped out of it. "Thank you, Ali" I heard say to her friend before she turned and started walk toward the door.
"Oh, hey" mom smiled when she met me in front of the door. I nodded and we moved in. "Boss was on bad mood today" she commented even I didn't even ask why it took so long. "You seemly ordered some food. That's good because I'm way too tired to start make any" she laid on the couch and sighed.
I pity her. I felt sorry that things in her work had started go that way. I had proposed her to change job but she hadn't wanted do it. She didn't want leave the place where she had worked almost 5 years already.
I opened the box and delicious smell of Gong Bao Chicken filled my nose. I put some of it on three plates. "Come eat" I called mom and went knock Benjamin's door. "Food" I yelled and after couple minutes he walked to the table too.
"How was your day?" mom asked both of us, but especially for Benjamin whose face was like he would have heard bad news. "Stupid, really stupid" he mumbled and emptied his plate quickly and was gone before we could say anythinh back.
"Did something happen to him in the school?" mom asked to me when we heard Benjamin slam his door close. "I forgot to pick him up from Sam and he got kinda mad" I mumbled which made mom shook her head. She sighed. "I fell asleep! I could nothing to it" I groaned. I started get annoyed now too.
It felt like everything was my fault nowadays, and that I'm the worst person in the world. Mom didn't say anything to me and I knew that the conversation wouldn't continue anymore.
I hissed and walked to my room. I slammed the door close and fell on my bed. How my life was going like that again? How I was again on this point with problems, many problems. Not just with mom but almost everyone around me.
I was glad that with Charlotte we got everything alright and that I was doing good at school. I had passed all my courses and there was just a couple weeks left before holidays started.
I laid there on my bed still few minutes before I decided go and try make my brother forgive me. I knocked on his door and for my suprise, it opened and Benjamin let me in. I walked to his room and looked around. It looked same as always, messy... just like boy's room did often.
I didn't even say anything to him before he already answered me. "It's okay sis, but don't do that again" he told not giving me an eye contact however. "I won't, I promise" I said and hugged him. He pushed me away and grinned.
"Eww" he mumbled and looked me shocked. "We're not that close" he mumbled. I laughed to his comment. "Girl bacteria, huh?" I joked and touched his shirt. "Eww, stop it!" he groaned and pushed me on chest. I shook my head and walked away.
I looked in our living room. Mom was sitting there and watching tv. When she noticed me she nodded me to come sit next to her.
I sat there and she looked me. "How the school is going?" she asked and caressed my light brown hair which I had dyed just yesterday. "Why everyone is asking that today?" I groaned. "Nothing special to mention"
"Calm down, I just wanted to know. Who else has then asked you that today?" she asked another question and I gulped. "Mr. Bieber..." I said slowly. "Oh, did he visit here?" my mom's gaze lightened but I shook my head.
"No, I visited there since I needed some help with homework" I slipped out. "Well did you get any?" mom mumbled before she turned the tv off. "Yeah" I nodded. "I'm fine now" I mumbled and looked over my mom.
"That's good. Isn't that great how kind neighbor we have got?" she smiled and I couldn't anything but nod back, and it was truth. I was happy that he was around even it might make some problems between us.
