I don't know where I draw my strength from but I do. I think it's when I see him. I don't see a lot just a tuft of dark hair but I know immediately it's him. Everything about it. And suddenly all my fears disappear. I'm not in control of my body anymore and my feet move forward. The only think I'm still in control of is my smile and wow, it's bright.
This was meant to be the last time I saw him but right now the only think I can think of is him. Him. And then I hear the golden shop bell as I enter. And all of a sudden the guiding force that got me into the shop leaves me but I'm not afraid. In the slightest. I can't see him but as I look around me in wonder I noticed something other than the cheerful buzz of the atmosphere. On the shelves and trays. Bread shaped like an erumpment and demiguise iced biscuits. All the creature from our adventures in food-form.
And that's when it hits me. He might still remember me. It had never occurred to me before this could still work. But it could. The Swooping Evil venom was quite diluted by the time he stepped out into the rain.
And in that minute I feel it, a wave of golden hope throughout me,a dove took flight.

But I want to know I need to know and besides I told Tina I would buy bread. So I bend down peering at a shelf and among the quieting noise I hear a customer ask "Where do you get your ideas from, Mr Kowakski?"
I hear the ring of the till and Jacob's reply "No idea" Then he laughs. Not a gigglewater laugh, another kind. The till rings again and the customer leaves.
Jacob hands some keys to an assistant and he goes and the other customer exits with another ring of the bell. Then it's just us and his eyes fall on me and I give the truest biggest smile I ever have.
