I was in love. My beautiful little girl, I was responsible now for this amazing little person I had created with my Sez. I'd gone home to change and have a shower, had a quick nap and gone back to the hospital. Couldn't be apart from my girls because I missed them so bloody much. I walked in to Sez's Room to see her feeding our little Princess, her smile meeting mine. I don't think I'd stopped grinning since Melie was born. "Hey handsome" she greeted me with a loving kiss. "How are my two best girls hmm, missed you". "Well we missed you too Daddy, Melie needs Daddy cuddles, here let me just burp her and you can have a snuggle". I loved cuddling my little girl, she smelt so good, a mix of baby shampoo, talcum powder and Sez's perfume it was the most wonderful smell. I sat down on the edge of the bed as Sez gently passed my little girl to me. "Hello my princess" I cooed, "Daddy missed you this morning, have you been a good girl for Mummy". I stood up then, walking round the room my little girl tucked safely in my arms rocking her gently singing "Frere Jacques". I'd sung to Sez's tummy a lot when she was pregnant and it seemed to soothe her, now that Melie was actually here it had the same effect. I kissed my little girl on the head, breathing her in. I'd never felt so overcome with love before.
"It's a good look on you lad". Payno, Nialler and Tommo standing at the doorway to Sez's room with gifts galore, I'd never seen anything like it. I just stood there grinning like an idiot. "She's beautiful H, a wee stunner" Nialler loved babies too, when his little nephew Theo was born he was absolutely besotted.
The boys all made their way over to Sez kissing her on the cheek and giving her hugs of "Congratulations". "Good luck trying to get a cuddle" Sez said laughing "H loves his princess and their cuddles". I had to laugh. I did indeed love my cuddles with my wee angel. "Come on then Tommo, your the expert, let's see if you can remember what to do aye".
I gently passed Melie over to Louis and he immediately flicked into Dad mode. "She's a right wee honey Harold, you did good". "I did didn't I" I had to laugh. "Well you know my beautiful wife did most of the work, I was pretty useless really". "You were great baby" she piped up "You let me squeeze your hand and you gave me awesome back rubs and drinks, you were the best H and I love you for that". I made my way over to her bed leaning in for a kiss. "Thank you my girl and I love you".
"Uggh you two are so nauseating". Tommo giving me shit again. "Hey can I help it that my hot wife just gave birth to the most beautiful little thing and I'm the proudest Daddy ever"? "No lad, I'm just teasing". Payno was next for a cuddle. "Good practice for you there pal". Liam gently took our little bundle from Louis. "She's got your eyes H and I can see the faint hint of a little dimple there, she's gonna break hearts this one". "Yeah well good luck to any boy who tries, no-one will ever be good enough for my Melie". "Oh god I can just see it" said Nialler, "Harold at the front door giving the poor lads the third degree" "Too fucking right Nialler, and I expect you to vet them with me".
